world club cup doesn't have any prestige or importance, only concacaf and asians dream to win that insignificant cup
libertadores is a thousand times better than that world club cup, in libertadores we have very exiting and nice games
even nissan sudamericana is better than that world club cup
i don't know why the intercontinental cup was abolished, why? isn't anyways going to be always a southamerican=-european the final of the world club cup?
Totally agree. The CWC was create to satify the medocrity of other Confeds and FIFA greedy fat fook Sep ( I hope you have a heart Attack) blatter. The funny thing is that people think that one game against any Conmebol, Uefa club will make them better. This tournament is a joke. At least I don't have to watch it and I dread the day Boca will go on a two Fiasco and Lose the local trophy fro this so call CWC..

Gotcha, that would be quite a feat indeed...
MAJOR NEWS
It looks like the draw has been made (http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/Clubworld/tournament/0,4133,CWC-2006-108,00.html).
Q1: AFC - CAF
Q2: Club America - Auckland City
S1: W1 - CONMEBOL
S2: W2 - Barcelona
America fans must love their chances of meeting Barca in the semis...
Europe and South america are always going to play on Opposite ends of the tables being that ConCacaf and Conmebol already play together. Concacaf will always play a UEFA Club to go to the final.

Then you must have been one of the rare Xenizes fans who didn't give a sh** when Boca beat UEFA teams in the old Intercontinental Cup (sorry..the old World Club Cup played between Europe and South America). Dude, if you don't like the idea, just don't watch it. But then again you're probably one of those people who hate the fact that small countries get to participate in the World Cup when it really should be a tournament between Europe and South American countries...

The old Inter cup was great. One game, Fly there and back.. But to fly across the world to play in a tourney for what? to be called World Champ? So let me gets this straight. Uefa and the Conmebol have to beat some clubs from Asia, Africa, Oceania and the concacaf in order to be called World Club Champions? That sounds ridiculous. And it was not the OLD WORLD CLUB CUP, it was the INTERCONTINENTAL CUP. Do people really know what INTERCONTINENTAL means? And no I don't watch it or support it.

Inter will lose 7 players before December. Tinga and bolivar are gone. Sobis is going to Milan. Fernandao also to Italy, Alex(Spain), Edinho(portugal) and Jorge Wagner(France) . Jesus what team will Inter send to this fiasco of a Tournament. I mean can anyone really say that the Copa Lib champs are going to particpate? What a joke.. Players are not taking the chance that Lugano took for Sao Paolo last year. His dumbass ended up with Federbache of Turkey instead of one of the big clubs in europe.

Jesus.. What a great idea this tourney is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Inter beat al-Gareeza with a B team!!! How embarrassing.. Just imagine what would the scoreline have been if Inter kept all their stars? 9-1 or 10-1?? again this tournament is a waste of time.. the only thing that this proves is how bad and lacking other Confeds clubs are and they expect to learn something from a 90 minute exhibition. Rumour has it that Inter were drunk on saki the night before...I can't wait unitl Europe and south america fail to reach the final and they crown FC MANSA MUSA World Club Champion.. What a farse..

1. Inter did not field a “B team”. It’s the full team that played the Brazilian Championship in the second semester, with new players replacing the ones that were sold after the Libertadores victory. Selling players after each tournament is common practice in Brazil, because Brazilian clubs can’t match the high salary offers made by their European counterparts. Most players that left had already been sold at the start of the year, under the condition they could stay until the end of the first semester.
2. Inter had great difficulties to beat the Egyptian team. It was far from a walkover. They had two clear chances, got two goals. The Egyptians had more chances than Inter, but put only one away. Inter played marginally better.
3. Inter players have said this is the tournament of their lives. Most, including captain Fernandão and manager Abel Braga, have said they consider it more important than Libertadores. Check Brazilian newspapers online.
4. All major newspapers in Brazil consider the tournament more important than the Libertadores Cup.
5. The rumor you mention is absurd and disrespectful towards Internacional. At least post links to support it, in case you don’t happen to be its author.

1. Any other starting 11 that didn't win the Copa libertadores for Inter is a B-team. PERIOD.. How in the hell can you compare those players that left to europe to the one they have now?
2. Please don't lecture me on Copa lib winners selling their players before playing the Copa inter.. i know all about it..
3. This crap tournament more important the the Copa Libertadores??? WHAT THE ******** ARE THEY SMOKING DOWN THERE.. Well Hell, since Inter win it every other year I guess so.. In Europe the papers are stating that this tourney is more important than the Champions League!!!!!
4. What a joke of a Tourney. Invented to satify the mediocre in order to make money..

That doesn't make sense. In this day and age, all clubs sell players and buy new ones quite frequently.
By your logic, my current Arsenal is a "B team" because in July we sold Pires, Campbell and Reyes, as well as losing Bergkamp? So the new players count for nothing?
The Inter side you call a "B team" finished second in the Brazilian first division and gave São Paulo a fair challenge for the title. It's arguably as good as last year's Inter, that also finished as runners-up in the very same competition. Alexandre Pato, for instance, is considered superior than Rafel Sobis by the press and the Inter crowd.
3. This crap tournament more important the the Copa Libertadores??? WHAT THE ******** ARE THEY SMOKING DOWN THERE.. Well Hell, since Inter win it every other year I guess so.. In Europe the papers are stating that this tourney is more important than the Champions League!!!!!
You don't have to agree, but that's the general opinion in the Brazilian press and among Brazilian soccer fans.
Barcelona players have already said they consider this tournament extremely important and they want to win it anyway they can. Check for quotes in soccernet if you feel like it. Mourinho, probably the best manager in club football, said he wants to be champion of the world with Chelsea (referring to Fifa's competition). So while the tournament is not so popular in Europe, it's gradually gathering people's interest. Give it some time.

If the WCC is so important why would Inter sell players after the Libertadores but before the WCC?

Because the buyers (that is, the European clubs) want the players for the start of the new season in August. Many aren't interested in waiting until January. Inter and other Brazilian clubs simply can't afford to keep the players.
The players also don't want to stay when wages they receive in Europe will be three or four times higher than what the Brazilian clubs can offer.
