Now that Setanta's going to be carrying a large fraction of matches this year, where in center city are people thinking of going to? Do Fado or Dark Horse even carry the Setanta channel as of now?

That is a very good question. I would think that if they're smart, they would have gotten it. I know that Dark Horse already has DirecTV, meaning that they could get the channel quite easily. Is the same true for Fado? What about Tir Na Nog?

They showed Celtic matches at Fado last year so I assume that they'll have access to Setanta.......FFS, it's only a $100 per month for them, they really should have it.

Fado's website has them listed as having a match on the 19th at 7:00AM. Doesn't say which yet, but I would think come next week that there'll be more info. I'm not in town at the moment, so I can't go down to check.

Are there any pubs in Princeton which show matches. I am a transplanted Philly Gooner (Temple Uni) back living in NYC but am away in Princeton the weekend of the 19th (opening weekend, we play Villa @ the Grove at 10 on PPV)....Cheers....

No clue man.....but Nick's right, Fado is showing a 7:30 am match on the 19th which inherently should mean that they have Setanta.

Argh, I'm going to be in rural Minnesota on the 19th. Piss poor luck. Im going to have figure out if its reasonable for me to try and hear no spoilers until after I download and watch the match

i'll come to fado for sure on the 19th if they are showing the game. as of past years fado has had setana. i'll call them mid week to find out for sure if they are showing it.

fado definitely has setanta, as that pub is the home of a celtic supporters club. tir na nog has setanta as well ... i caught some of the celtic/hearts match which they were showing tuesday evening, and i've watched a ton of arsenal matches there the past couple seasons. not sure about dark horse showing arsenal games ... haven't been there to watch any matches, but i know for a fact they do have setanta.

tir na nog doesn't have any sporting events listed that day, and all dark horse is showing is world cup.

hate to be a lameass, but does anyone know of any pubs on the main line that typically open weekend mornings for soccer? I'm willing to travel to the city, of course, it's just easier not having to fuss with parking or paying to park.

I JUST found out that my understanding of my family's vacation was wrong. I actually will be in town now, it seems. Guess I'll be at Fado. Jeez thats so early!

There is internet access, but it's my uncle's house, and he uses dial up! :eek:

Good to know the situation. All that said I won't be in town for the opener, am attending a certain Chelsea fan's wedding. Hoping to catch it in Pittsburgh.

Ali, were you in town back in the middle of July riding a bike around by the Eastern State Penitentiary?? Strange question to ask now, but I was curious.

So I'm in town pretty much every weekend or so and the girlfriend lives in the Art Museum area which often means I wind up parking on Fairmount by the prison but I haven't touched a bike in months.......

P.S. we really need a get together in Philly with you, Mike and Mike, etc....
