...must have a regular place in the starting 11 in my opinion. From my point of view we are a much more live and threatening team when he is on the field. I think he has that "something" special that makes a great EPL player. If we are smart he could one day be a legend of the black and white. I hope GR makes him a part of the plan now. Whadya think?
Cheers,
Dave

He is one of my favorite players...it seems there was a 2 month span last spring where every goal we scored originated through him. Being so young, I hope that our multiple midfield options will keep him hungry to grow as a player in order to keep his place. I remember the last "midfield of the future" we had a couple years ago with Dyer, Jenas and Robert.
One guy decided he didn't like where the manager was playing him, later fought a teammate during a game...one got tired of living in a fishbowl, and the other defended as if the other team had the bird flu.

Magical left foot and absolutely nothing else at all! What a shame.

Yeah, magicial, but only when he could be bothered. The rest of the time he seemed to think he was playing rugby...
Such a waste of a potentialy huge talent

Its his raw pace. We played our best post 90's football when we had Bellamy and Dyer in the side. He definetely should be starting.

I just hope that Zoggy wont be forced to sit on the bench with Duff in the team now. Put duff up front or on the right.. and have Zoggy hug the left side line

Zoggy prefers central midfield. Run the 4-3-3 like we did against Wigan with Zoggy Emre and Parker.

"Charlie Boy" Sits It Out
By Nu Mad Friday 8th September 2006
Charles N'Zogbia is the player to suffer because of the transfer of Damien Duff, but Glenn Roeder says the 20-year-old Frenchman has to remain patient this season.
Already a firm favourite of the fans, but again Charlie will take up a seat on the bench again on Saturday against Fulham.
Roeder: "Charles is 20 years old and he has had over 50 starts.
"We have a disease in this country. We turn out good young players - in fact, he is better than good, he is an excellent young player - and we demand that they play week in, week out.
"They get to 23, 24 and suddenly they have all sorts of injuries because they have played too many games and they suffer burn out. It is my job to look after young players. I did it with quite a few players, but the most obvious one I did it with was Jermain Defoe at West Ham.
"I protected Jermain in the first couple of seasons. He would often come off the bench and play a big part in a winning performance and score some goals, and he had plenty of starts.
"Charles N'Zogbia will play lots and lots of games, he will start lots of games this year for Newcastle. We are in four competitions. I think the world of him and he would be one player who certainly would never be for sale as far as I am concerned.
"He has a big future in front of him, but I will protect him. Damien Duff coming to the club has actually raised his level of perfomance anything up to 15, 20%. Damien Duff arriving at the club has actually helped Charles, not hindered him at all. He is a wonderful player."

Maybe i have just drank the kool-aid, but I agree with Roeder on this one. Besides the St. James's injury curse will set in soon and Zog will see lots of action again.

When you think about it there's a fair bit of talented players out there who were youngsters when Roeder was in command at West Ham, starting with Joe Cole and Defoe. Whether or not he had as big a role in their development as he claims, I guess we'll just have to see if the same results pan out with our young players.
