I'm hoping the following will be in the starting line-up
Ustari
Aguero
Gago
Messi
Tevez
Gonzalo
Pekerman

Gago's perfomance with Boca was very impressive especially in the first half. That being said he still has to improve certain aspects of his game, his judgement is still not the best at times. With experience he should become a class player.
I do not know what to make of the old generation. Did Crespo, Zanetti, Ayala and co end their career with the NT ? The logical thing to do is to give the youngsters some experience, and there is nothing better than a game against Brazil in London to kick things off. They should get used to that kind of pressure.

This would be a very good game to play the likes of Aguero and Gago, it's a massive match played at a great venue, at the same time it is only a friendly so there won't be so much pressure on the outcome, an ideal situation to play some uncapped players. Having said that, I'm not sure if only european based players are going to get picked for this game, which would obviously exclude the likes of Gago and Ustari.
I still think Crespo has a couple more years left in him in the national team, even if that may be more as a squad member these days, than a starter. Sadly Pekerman, in his ridiculous decision, to leave him out of the world cup squad called time on Zanetti's international career.

I think he'll probably pick some players from Argentina! but i really dont know what his pick will be its kind of confusing maybe Somoza should get a chance since he's doing great with Villareal already! no need to call up Mascherano and Lucho since we all know what kind of players they are and give some chances to thos who never got a call up!
i would luv to see Palleta with Gonzalo in the backline :p Heinze, Zabaleta full backs Gago, Somoza Center Midfielders, Messi, D`Alessandro behind the forwards, and Aguero, Lopez forwards and keep ur eyes on Moralez, cardozo, Archubi, Belluschi, Botinelli :p

I think it's probably too soon for Palleta, especially as he's made a couple of cricks in his last 2 games.
Tim Vickery mentioned a young Argentine centre half who plays for Racing Santander, whose name escapes me and I must admit I've never heard of him, who may get a call up. But I agree that this game should be used to experiment and give some young players a chance.

The young Santander Defender is Ezequiel Garay, 20 years old former Newell's player and member of the U-20 Argentina team. He's about 6 feet tall and gets compared to Sensini (un grande). He in under contract with Santander for the next 5 years.

If I was Basile I would call up all players that have the posibility to play for other countries (like Pipita Higuain) so that me don't have more Camoranesis wining the WC with other countries. :D I like to see a focus on young players for the upcoming friendlies and while I agree that the older players (Zanetti, Ayala, Crespo) should be called up as they can still play some important role in the Copa America & early matches of the qualifiers so that the young players can be integrated into the team slowly. As of today my team would be
Ustari
Palleta, Milito, Heinze
Mascherano,Gago
D'Alessandro, Maxi Rodriguez
Messi
Aguero, Tevez

That's the bloke! Here is Tim's article:-

By the way, I'm not particularly bothered about Argentina missing out on Camronesi as I think he is nothing other than ordinary. OK he is a world cup winner, but so is Roque Junior.
Now, if Messi had opted to play for Spain, that would have been a heartbreaker.

The team should consist of European based players ... there is no break in the local tournie.

I am not worried about "missing out" on Camoranesi, just a matter of principle, why would we give the opportunity to other teams to use our players? That's why I am glad Bilos got called up, not so much so that he would play for Argentina but that he wouldn't play for another team.
I know it is a selfish way of thinking (the player will not get a chance to play internationally and in World Cups) but as a fan I would have hated to see Bilos (a guy that learned to play futbol in Argentina and is Argentinian) play for another country just to be in the World Cup. Sucks for him personally but I am glad he wasn't given that chance.

Hopefully Lucho Figueroa is healthy now, I'd like to see him get a consistent run with the team. his strike rate with the albiceleste is pretty impressive.
maybe placente, rosales, arca, d'alassandro can all get looks. Treat this match like a "B" game and check in on some players that are currently out of the picture. just an idea: dont yell at me! :)

You think D'Alessandro is going to get called before Aimar and Insua? I would put those two, particularly Insua ahead of the list in terms of Basile's preferences. I agree though that the older players should get called up while they are still healthy and able to play on the NT. As far as I know none of them have said they are retiring anytime soon. In fact I would almost replace Ayala with Milito in your line up just because I think that Heinze and especially Palleta would benefit from his experience. Heinze because he looked a little rusty during parts of the WC and Palleta because he is so young. Milito I would phase in slowly but start with Ayala since you can still get a couple of years with him. I like you linup though:) .

Insua is a possibility specially since Coco coached him last, but I like D'Alessandro better. I am not Basile so can't say who he likes better but I am saying who I like better. I would also put D'Alessandro since he can play in the left, that way Maxi (or Aimar) can stay in his natural position in the right. Point taken with Milito, but maybe it could be time to give another CB more experience even if they don't start just call them up. Someone like G. Rodriguez (at Villareal) or Garay (Racing Santander former Newells) or Gioda (at Independiente, former Lanus). They would really benefit from the experience but you can't go wrong with Ayala.

Gonzalo should get a game, he has played at a high level for a long time (even though he is still very young) and he deserves a chance.
And Aguero has got to be in the squad and team. :D

Delgado??????? you're kidding right? Who's next? Palermo so he can kick the penalty kicks? :D
On a serious note, don't forget about Palacios, he should be in the line up but I don't think he should start over Aguero.
