When I read the Headline I thought they meant Steve Nichol (who is after all a fairly famous alumnus)

Steve Nicol's going to have to win some MLS Cups with New England before anyone in Old England makes him a manager.

Don't tell me, tell Grahme Jones of the LA Times.

I hate to say it. But you almost get the sense McClaren is going to put in the right amount of work for this job. Something Sven never did...

Yeah, he will but will it make a difference come crunch time (the cup final stages), that's the question.

The first thing he has to get his head round to, is that he can only play one of Gerrard and Lampard at any one time.

On a curious note, I notice he has hired Max Clifford as his media advisor. Wonder what's lurking in them cupboards of his.

I hate Max Clifford, he really is a pile of pond life, although as you say any skeleton's lurking in McClaren's cupboards will be well and truly hidden. Obviously Steve is smarter than Sven. I'll be interested to see if McClaren drops old players like Sol Campbell, David Beckham, David James and Gary Neville and bloods new youngsters into the squad.

I'd like to see players like Ashton, D.Bent, SWP, Pennant, Defoe and the likes of Ledley King getting more playing time in the England team.

He says he's different to Sven, lets hope he's prepared to drop "BIG" players.
