Just asking... heard there will be no PPV for EPL this year (which it seemed most MUFC games landed) also heard FSC does not have first choice of games - I only have FSC - do you think I'll be out of luck for games this year? Am I going to have to try and track down Setana (my cable company doesn't carry...) - thanks for any advice!

I am with you on that...my cable company charter does not offer Setanta, not even on Digital...

Ever thought of moving to England! Lots of jobs around, get a posting with an American company?

Eat as much fish n chips with mushy peas/curry/kebabs* as you like. Visit Blackpool!

Go to OT, what more can you ask for?

Only DirecTV right now.

Do a search, as this is mentioned in several threads.

Currently MUTV is available in the US on Setanta Sport, offered only by DirecTV at this time. Dish Network is known to have shown interest in getting the channel, but they don't feel it would be worth it if Setanta continues to demand such a high price for their channel alone.

It does look that Setanta has most United matches at this point. Best options at this point are a) bugging your cable company to add them, but that may be wishful thinking, b) finding the closest bar/pub that carries Setanta matches, or c) find a web-based option. I'm in the same quandry.

However; now that Setanta USA has the rights to the *ahem* Premier Premiership games, Dish Network (and some cable systems) may be forced to offer it.

If you are not old enough to get into "pubs" you can stream matches through your PC, if you really really really are desperate.

TVAnts did well for me for the Amsterdam Tournament.

Unless you are on a very tight budget, just get Directv. In the long run you get a lot more for less. You can discontinue Setanta in the summer to help save.

Depends on the demand for it. I think that a lot of people will want the games, but few will want to pay that kind of money. $12 for one channel? I know its to see Man United, but frickin' hell, that's getting to the point of extortion IMHO. My Dish Network bill already comes to $90/month.

I feel Achtung's pain. Theoretically, I just paid $13 a month for ESPN Deportes. However, they threw in Playboy, so I've discounted it to $6/month for ESPND "The Ocho"

You forgot the black pudding and tripe! ;)

Tripe seems to be for older northerners. Curry is the big takeaway food here!

You could also have lobby, eccles cakes, lancashire hotpot or manchester tarts.

And the great meat and potato pies. Those at OT arent that great.

Setanta is going to be offered on an IPTV platform soon. This could be a good option for people that don't have DirecTV & don't want Globecast. There are two IPTV companies that I know of, and I've heard pretty good things about both of them.
IPTV uses a set top box that connects to your high speed Internet. The box connects to your tv set just like a cable or satellite receiver. This option will include the full Setanta USA channel, just like you receive on DirecTV. The price for the channel will be the same as it is on DirecTV. That price is currently $11.99, but it will be going up to $14.99 in September. All of this information comes from the interview on the epltalk website.
