I think not. This team is built around the notion that Blanco is done and last years news. It bothers me becuase he bleeds America, but his day has come and gone. I'm not trying to disrespect the current guys, but none of them at this point are capable of capturing that presences Blanco had on the field. I hope that someone steps into that role of America's badass General, but I don't see him. Do you?

you are right, but we have to remeber," Blanco es el ultimo gran idolo en MEXICO"... who else??, we have to wait for other player......maybe someone in the current team could take the team over his back..and be the leader, and stuff, but Blanco is just special..

Blanco is needed right now! The lack of llegadas in the first half made me sick, Blanco can still feed the forwards. His speed may be gone but his passes are just as good as they were 6 years ago.

When you think about it, this will be the first time in 20+ years that we won't have a forward/idolo made in Coapa. In the 80's, we hade Hemosillo, Pelaez, and Zague all come up from OUR fuerzas basicas. Cuauh was the transition from Zague. I don't see anyone taking over that from Cuauh. Someome would really have to step it up. As for idolo status, it looks like Memo is it. We have been good at producing effective players who have won us a couple of championships. But we are missing Cuauhs successor. Lets hope that we have someone somewhere waiting in the wings ...

Did you guys watch the same match I did?

To think America does not need a player of Blanco's quality is pretty rediculous. That was not some blow-out win on Saturday. Blanco will definitely help make plays. If you think America will win every match 1-0 you are sorely mistaken.

This America fan can't wait until Blanco gets back on the pitch. I know his playmaking skills will help the team. One win and all of the sudden America doesn't need Blanco? Get real.

Touching on the missing idol thing. I'm feeling like something is missing from this team. The faces are new, but no one from the cantera has step up. Our front line 100% pure South American talent. I feel slightly dirty. Club America needs to do something fast. We always as fans of El Tri bitch and moan about lack of forwards, but are we as Americanista able to endure a couple of losing seasons in order to see a young guy develop? Or is there only winning? I think most you would rather win the title just so you can throw it back in all the Chivas fans faces than produce top talent. I feel dirty.

Cuauhtemoc is a legend, but he's not the future nor the present for that matter.

We still need him. Look at last season and how useless Piojo and Kléber were without Blanco playing balls into the box for them to finish. It was worse with Lapuente resisting to abandon his double defensive midfielder placement with Villa and Pardo, Pável could've easily been moved up the field to fill Blanco's role when he was unavailable due to his nagging injury.

Look at last Saturday's game. Look at how far down the pitch Cabañas and Vuoso had to run just to get the ball. Cuauhtémoc is still a fantastic player, and to tell the truth, I still think he could be a hound and a full-fledged striker like he was in years past. In fact, América would be wise to stick him up front and save his legs. He is the embodiment of a complete offensive player, with his suave technique, his deft passing skills and his near-perfect finishing.

What's embarassing for América is that their best midfielder is actually a forward (Blanco). Peña was non-existent on the pitch and constantly neutralized by the San Luis contenciones. Alvin Mendoza and Nacho Torres are are two jokes with bad punchlines. And Germán Villa. Bless his heart, at least he's trying. It's too late now, but América should've held off signing either Cabañas or Vuoso and invested that money in a top-flight midfielder, because now, the reality is that two guys that should be scoring goals (Blanco and Piojo) are most likely the ones who will be in charge of supplying balls to other goalscorers.

Piojo is no playmaker. He made no impression yesterday. Wasted w/o service.

Pena was a no-show.

The way that Tahuilan was bitchslapping Cabanas was infuriating. Cuah would have stomped him and fought. No respect for Cabanas for taking that crap.

The Barcelona match should light some fires.

Ok Cuauh is far from that bad ass play maker in the 90's he;s on the down slope....hopefully he;ll be able to catch a second air to be able to take america to be the World Club Champion in december in Tokio. We deff need to look for someone to replace him probably for 2 or 3 seasons from now...not sure unless a young player can step up and be able to have half the talent D10S has

I don't need the masses to support my usage of words.

Aguilas and fellow Americanista, I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't see him coming back and being the badass he used to be.

2 or 3 seasons out of Cuauhtemoc seems like a lot.

again I hope I'm really wrong.

Bopper, decent poster this evening?
