This is the dumbest thing I have read all day. SC won't lose a game. People underestimate the power of recruiting, and when you have the top recruiting class the last 3 years you have no reason to worry. Booty will be better then you guys expect and I just can't wait until we suprise everyone and pick up right where we left off.
And Boise State and TCU play Utah so there goes their chances of an undefeated season. :D

USC won't be able to replace Bush, Leinart, and White. The conference has been pulling them back for the last two years, and this is the time for the letdown. They won't have as potent an offense and their defense isn't as good as billed. They may only lose 1 to 3 games, but they aren't beating Notre Dame, and they aren't running the table in the Pac-10.

All I know is, Wake Forest is going to a bowl. You heard it here first.

Boise State and TCU are far better than Utah. Utah since Meyer and Smith left hasn't looked the same, unless you think 7-5 (4-4 in conference) is impressive.
As for SC, with all the losses on offense, I'm not sure they get past Cal this year. Though I think they could beat Notre Dame (ie, the Fightin' Overrateds)

I think Utah just went through a drop-off, but they were pretty impressive against Ga Tech in their bowl game last year and they seem to have a good coach.
TCU seems to be everbody's undefeated cinderella, but I think their overrated. They could lose a few this year, including against Utah, Texas Tech, or San Diego State with their new head coach. They had a great record and all last year, but they lost to SMU of all teams.
I think SC will have an off year, finally, which might mean 2 or 3 losses. I'm thinking maybe Cal or ASU take the Pac-10 this year. If ASU had a defense they'd be amazing.
And I'll go with a very modest 7-5 prediction for my CU Buffs. If we can go a year without getting thoroughly embarrassed on national tv, I'll call it progress.
And I agree on Wake Forest.

Doesn't the ACC get enough bowl invites for everyone except Duke? :p

John David Booty has already been billed as a more accurate passer than Matt Leinart, and that is by his teammates. Who happen to make up the best receiving tandem in College Football. Chauncey Washington is a strong, tough runner who has breakaway speed and 3rd and short power. Taking a shot at the defense is weak. The defense is much improved seeing as how they return so many guys. This defense will be one of the best of Pete Carrol's tenure, believe it. If the games against Cal, ASU, and ND were away I would probably agree that they might drop one of them. However, USC hasn't lost a game in the Coliseum since Pete Carrol has been the coach, and not to mention all 3 of those games are 7 o'clock starts. The last thing opponents want to do is play at the Coliseum, much less at nighttime.
I also find it funny how Cal is mentioned as being able to take out SC with a QB who played 1 quarter so far in his college career. Let's see how those Golden Bears do in week 1 at Neyland Stadium against the Tennessee Volunteers.
And Utah had a very poor yearing with injuries and bonehead coaching mistakes to cite as reasons. However, that team you saw in the Emerald Bowl against Georgia Tech will be back, and look for them to start the year off right with a big win at UCLA.

This a thinly-veiled propping of the P-word. You know, that ugly French term for 'not worth a damn yet'. :D

What happened to Mark Sanchez? I thought he was gonna push Booty for playing time, or possibly start. Did the rape charge knock him down the depth chart?

Carrol named Booty as the #1 at the end of spring. It was up to Sanchez to take the job from Booty, there is still time left but it's expected that Booty will start.
The rape charge had nothing to do with it, in fact it was dismissed. Carrol and the rest of the coaches are better guys then to let some obvious wrongful accusation cost a guy some playing time. Now, Sanchez missing the practices and not being allowed to participate while the rape was being investigated didn't help, because Booty was out. Sanchez would have gotten all of the first team snaps and it very well could have propelled him to the starting job, however to say that the rape alone cost him is false.
