Looks like a real meltdown at Corinthians. Tevez is being linked to Man U again in todays papers and evidently Mascherano has left the team and returned to Argentina. Link below says he returned home because his daughter was sick, but you never know. Two days ago the Corinthians Manger said Mascherano would not be playing in the upcoming match against Atlético Paranaense as he needed a rest. Now today you have the story about his daughter. Looks like both Tevez and Mascherano could be leaving Corinthians soon.

Oh, BTW.. MLS Allstars beat Chelsea 1-0. MLS midfield totally dominated the Chelsea midfield of Lampard, Ballack and Essien.

Don't do that, 433tom! It's not a "by the way" - it has nothing to do with transfers to Utd. I know there's an R in the title but I did not expect to see the result of the MLS/Chelsea game in this thread. I've just watched my recording of the Utd/Ajax game and had left the MLS game for later. I deliberately avoided the results sites so as not to spoil my enjoyment of the game and I come to look at the transfer rumours and this greets me ::mad:

I think what he meant to say was ... he wouldn't tell you how Obi Mikel did, nor would he mention who limped off, nor what Lampard thought of the grass in Chicago. Just that a former transfer target of United's, Mikel, had a game against a competitive MLS side.
As for other targets, sad news about United's major signing thus far. I wish him godspeed in his return so he can solidify the United midfield.
I'm curious whether SAF has something up his sleeve that may not have hit the papers. For some reason, something keeps telling me he does.

I'm sorry. I was making a post about the Mascherano story and I thought I would just mention that Ballack and Essien did not impress in the game, and there were really no threads here to cover the post. I just didn't think. It was stupid and I apoligize.
Regards,
Tom

Apologies accepted. But if you're ears are not burning they must be made of asbestos. You have been called some names this morning ;)

If I could, I would fall on my corner flag to cleanse myself of disgrace. :)
Thank you for accepting my apology.

I shall watch the match now for the satisfaction of seeing Chelsea beaten and hope for many more such matches this coming season :)

I know they are not fit yet. But it is a bit satisfying they were outplayed while on the field.

They weren't outplayed. They outplayed themselves. The midfield was clogged, I really don't see how this team will function like this.

Well the Americans certainly didn't find the midfield clogged. They played very much in a Continental style. Short passing, ball control, attacked through the middle. They were actually very good technically. The could have won by 2 or 3 goals with better finishing. You can argue that Chelsea are not fully fit, but on the flipside, the the MLS all-star team had virtually no practice together. I was very impressed with how well they played with each other. You have to credit the Americans with a result well deserved.
But we really need to get back on topic. I apoligize again for posting the score.

And which coach led them? Peter Nowak. He's on his way to becoming the best ever coach the MLS has seen. Forget Klinsi for your national team. Get this guy up there.
Nah but seriously, good on MLS.
I was going to say though, every body celebrate with me as we rejoice the down fall of Bayern Munich. Werder Bremen beat them 2-0 in the German Cup final.
Werder Bremen are one of the teams I like to watch from Germany, and occasionally hamburg. But Werder specially because of their attack.

Joe Cole picked up ligament damage in the first 5 minutes of his apperance in the game...he may be out for weeks.
He's the only player I can stand on Chelsea, I kind of feel bad for him. But more problems for Chelsea is good for us
