A day of shopping? It took me two minutes of having the damned things before I realized how retarded they were. Who on earch would anyone rather have coins in their pockets than singles. Do singles ever fall out of your pocket when you sit down? Do singles make noise when you walk?
good points there as well.

I'd rather have $1 coins than have to spend five minutes trying to get the damn vending machine to try and take my damn $1 bill.
In fact, when all is said and done, I think that I will have frittered away months of my life trying to get all those vending machines to take all those $1 bills over the years.

Okay, so for that instance, it would be nice to have 1 one dollar coin in your pocket. Of course, if you just keep your singles in a wallet, you never have that problem.

But to replace all your singles with coins in your pocket is just retarded. There is absolutely no reason at all why that would be a good idea - a fact proven over and over and over again by the populace of this country.

Not only that, but they're coins. Coins are generally inconsequential. When I was in the Azores for two weeks, I just kept change on my nightstand, just like I toss change into a bucket here at home. After two weeks, it was time to go, and I had like $50 in coins. It was ridiculous.

I never have problems.

Not in vending machines, juke boxes, MegaTouch machines. None of 'em.

What are you doing with your money when you get it?

Vending machines have improved vastly in accepting wrinkled bills over the years. By the time my children are grown, it will be a thing of the past altogether.

If I'm ever homeless, I'm gonna hitchhike my way to Canada so that when I panhandle, people will give me $1 and $2 out of their pocket. That's a helluva lot better than a quarter, even if it is Canadian.

i dont really trust much of anythig done by the populace of this country... :D

the only bad thing for me about coin 1s or 2s is that i spend money much faster and with less accountability.

No state income tax.

In Texas, it's a weekend every August where there's no sales tax on clothing and footwear item under $100.

It's intended for back-to-school clothes shopping, and I found out that in South Carolina, they do it there to, but you also get school supplies tax-free this weekend.
we had it here too this past weekend
went to the outlets and got some work clothes

no tax on computer and stuff up to 1500 too

My friends in Tokyo put whatever 500 yen coins they have at the end of the day in a jar. 500 yen is about $4-$4.25.

They have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars with that system. I think that's how they bought their new washing machine.

A kind of money is a noun.

So to have more than one is to plauralize it.

That right there is why that god damned country of Europe will never be superior.

When I was in England, it was a hell of alot easier to open my wallet and pull out a five to pay for something that was a pound or two instead of grabbing all the change out of my pocket and sifting through it to find the pound coins.

It's definitely easier to pull a wallet out and open it instead of fumbling through a handful of change.

Amen, brotha man.

I do think that they since they did go the coinage rounte, they should have done it up right and helped people out. To save room, they eliminate the $1.00 coin. They keep the fifty cents coin - but change the $2.00 coin to the $1.50 coin.

The $.50 coin would be the size of the dime and be copper colored. The $1.50 coin would be the size of our current dollar coin and be silver. This coin would have a hole in the middle and the $.50 coin would be able to be snapped into the hole and become a $2.00 coin.
