if only because of the Barcelona v. Chivas Sr. game afterwards.

The only way this game is a sellout is if 40,000 people not only aren't going to show up till after the first game is over, but are also all sitting in the same sections.

Wait, did someone actually say that this game was sold out? I thought biggy was joking around, but maybe not.

Yup.

No. It's because the Revs are in town. Ronaldinho is there to showcase his talents to Steve Nicol, with the hopes of getting TI spot on the Revs.

Or people are sitting wherever the hell they want.

Am I crazy for thinking that as poorly as they've played this season, the Revs are still a contender with the attacking talent they have?

Not at all. They have the talent to get hot in late September and roll through the playoffs.

Okay, let's say the whole place is general admission. Should attendance really count as 92,000 people in attendance if only 60,000 at best are, or were during any part of the game, actually inside the stadium?

If the Reds have a twinight double header, can we now count the attendance of the people at the second game towards the attendance of the first game? I mean afterall, they were in the same stadium on the same day.

Brian, it'll fill up. May be 30 minutes into the Barca/Chivas game (the second one), but it'll fill up.

And it isn't GA.

The difference is that you need two separate tickets to attend both games of the doubleheader. I'm assuming both of these games were on one ticket.

And I wasn't implying that this was general admission. I'm just saying that people decided to sit wherever they wanted.

Attendance figures are always announced by number of tickets sold.

It is an El Lay crowd, after all.

Isn't it weird how all the people that aren't coming till later are all sitting on the right side fo the field from endline to endline in the view we are watching?

Maybe that's the shady side?

Is this game on FSC?

amerifolklegend

Well, they just showed the whole stadium. The entire endline is off limits. So it's definately gonna be the number expected, just that nobody will be sitting on the endline side. They said they downsized seating for NFL games.

And actually, I remember when they did that, too.

The Guadalajara-Barcelona game will be.

The Gringo Goat-Revs game was supposed to be on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, but horse racing from the CA State Fair is running long. Whoever's in charge of these things switched the Direct Kick feed over to FSN New England, but their telecast is blacked out.

For old time's sake, I blame Kevin Payne.

I think I'm'onna bake me some cookies.

We made this crock pot dinner thing we got at the Kroger store but it sucked. It tasted like chinese food so I couldn't eat it.

I then had a half a pint of ice cream, and I'm still hungry.

So Oatmeal Raisin cookies will be my next attempt at filling my hunger.

Hang, did it bring a tear to your eye when Earnhart took the lead with nine laps left, got everyone on thier feet with excitement for two turns and then lost that lead before the lap was even done, only to fall back to seventh?

It did for me.

Nice work!

If more teams played adult rec-league games with that attitude, they'd probably win more games, too.

Most teams in my Denver rec leagues played with the fun attitude, including my outdoor co-ed team. But you're right, you always get the people trying to relive glory days they never/rarely had by taking shit way to seriously. Heck, the one season I played WAKA Kickball in Denver we had a team that actually acted competitively. In kickball.

I fixed myself some lasagna and garlic bread.

And by "fixed", I mean, "placed a phone order with a local Italian restaurant.
