Martins scored a pair against Porto today in a 3-2 Inter win. I read somewhere that folks suspect he might not really be 21 though?

Well as long as he's not 31 I could care less. I've seen the lad play many times and he would be a very good addition.

Charlton agree Faye fee with Newcastle
tribalfooball.com - August 05, 2006

Charlton Athletic have agreed terms with Newcastle for midfielder Amady Faye.

Addicks boss Iain Dowie has struck terms over a £2.5 million fee for the Senegal international, says the Mirror.

Faye's move to The Valley will be finalised next week.

NUFC.co.uk also confirms that Faye is talking to Charlton with an eye to leave, but if that fee's accurate, Roeder must be quite a negotiator.

Nicky Butt up front anyone?!

And 2.5mill for Faye has to be the deal of the season for us right?

"Sol Campbell has agreed to join Portsmouth on £40,000-a-week. (NotW)

And Newcastle. (The People)"

For what it's worth, Dirk Huyt scored for Feyenoord in a 2-0 win over the Smoggies today, with none other than Glenn Roeder in attendence.

Also there seem to be strong suggestions that Graveson is a done deal.

Hardly a turncoat.

Elliott is a free agent after being released by Newcastle this summer.

Sounds like the team gave up on him first.

I think we still need him as cover. We don't really have anyone else who can slot in the back in an emergency at all positions.

Thx,

Jay!

It wouldn't matter if we shot at him as he backed his bags, no self-respecting Newcastle player and local boy goes to the Stadium of Shite. There goes all my respect for him.

Crespo goes to Inter...which perhaps makes Obi Martins surplus? There's your pacey striker - come on down!

Gravesen has heart set on Newcastle move
tribalfooball.com - August 07, 2006

Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen has his heart set on a move to Newcastle United.

Toon boss Glenn Roeder has targeted the Denmark midfielder in a 2million swoop after his bust-up with Real team-mate Robinho.

Gravesen's agent John Sivebaek is set for crisis talks with Real sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic tomorrow with Newcastle expected to pounce this week.

Sivebaek told the People: "Thomas knows that Newcastle are a big club and we are only interested in talking to ambitious clubs.

"He had a good time in England and would prefer to go back there."
Let's wrap this up and sell Faye and sign a couple of strikers and a left back.

Even paying Inter's 8 or whatever million pounds for him isn't bad. He has tons o pace and is young and is strong for his size. He would be a very good addition.

Plus I really do believe that he would compliment Shola and bring out the best in him, much more so than when Shola played beside Shearer.

He put a clinic on against Chelski...............and before you English that refuse to respect anyone that plays soccer outside of England I have to say I'm kidding.....so take a breath.
