Another American-based fan here! :)
I watched the game, as well.
Just a few points I wanted to note:
I personally still think that Brzenska is wayyyyy too slow for the Bundesliga. To me, this was not the 1st time he seemed a step or two behind the play.
Also, I think Pienaar played pretty crappy (most will agree, I suppose?); I do think, that he put in just a decent hussle. But seeing as he has to be our playmaker, doing the dirty work, or trying to put a hussle in is not enough. He cannot be invisible again.
I also think that we didn't play bad at all. We had a number of chances, which we didn't take, and the difference was that Bayern did indeed their chances.
We also have to remember that Haedo-Valdez and Frei just started playing together, so there is time for improvement.
Did anyone think that one play where it looked like Lucio's hand touched the ball should've been a PK? It did not look like he handballed, it just bounced into his hand.
Just a few thoughts.

Sorry DF , No link here
Just some intresting facts ,,,, feel free to discuss :
Metze said that BVB later controlled the game, BVB hat 61% of the game and 15:100 shots on the goal
Bzenska won 71% of his fights, in overal the BVB won 48%
Weide saved more chances and therefore saved us for loosing higher than 2:0
Dede had 115times the ball , Lahm only had it 71 times
Florian Kringe schoss fünf Mal aufs Bayern-Tor.
I comment it more later, damn I have to catch the bus

Hate to respond to one of my own quotes, but I have to admit I was wrong.......
We saw two different things then. I saw one player go in properly. I saw the other go in with both feet and studs up.
Maybe I had the SchwarzGelb glasses on, but that's what I took from it.
I've watched that play about another 25 times now and I think "Coon" was right. It was a hard challenge that our player simply got the worst of. I think we just went off because Kehl was hurt. It was a hard, but fair challenge by Salihamidic.
The ref was right to keep his card in his pocket.
Thanks for the kick in the butt to bring me back to reality "Coon"! I guess I really did have the Schwarzgelb glasses on!

I agree, but that was his (Pienaar's) bundesliga debut. Hopefully, as time goes on, the referees will see that the other players are targeting him and crack down on it. A good example of that happening is Jarolim. Nearly every time he goes down a foul is called. Hopefully the same will happen with Pienaar, so other players wont be able to take advantage of his size without fouls being called.
That's right, but I don't want to have to count on the refs to make the calls.....
I'll bet I did not pay as close attention to the performance of the individual players as you did, so you're probably right about Metzelder. I noticed slack marking all over the game, but i never attributed it to one player, except on Schweinsteiger's goal, where Metzelder and co. were content to watch Lahm dribble down the side instead of marking Schweini.
Everyone on defense sucked execpt for Dede. He was solid as usual, but the rest looked like f#cking deer in headlights!
The rest fought hard though. Especially Kringe and Kruska in midfield. They were outplayed, but they fought and fought hard.
So did the rest of the offense.
But for me it was hard not to notice Brzenska completely screwing up.
Same here. However, Brzenska is the one who always gets praised by BVB & the fans. Sometimes I think they are setting up putting him in Metzelder's place and letting Metzelder go. And I don't get it.
As far as I'm concerned, Markus Brzenska F#CKING SUCKS!
Like I said earlier, he runs like a 150 year old turtle. Except for a short stretch last season, I never see where he does so well to earn all this praise.
Must be because he's a "local boy". Local boys always get more hype than they deserve in Dortmund........
