Championship season has started and our boys farmed out to Birmingham seem to be doing well on their debut. Albeit being substitutes Bendtner and Larsson came on in the 56th min and according to soccernet.com:
"Bendtner teamed up with Gunners colleague Sebastian Larsson, also on loan, to score a 79th-minute winner. "
Lets hope they do keep doing well and come back with enough experience to add some more depth to the squad.

I'm surprised there weren't any takers in the Premiership for him. Cardiff, that's a rough team, he certainly won't be playing any great passing matches there.

I wonder if that was the intent of loaning him there, maybe he needed to toughen up a little bit?

Nice to see these kids doing well.
Of course, I mean that only in terms of it increasing the price we get for them when we sell them next year. Until someone comes back from loan and stays with us for at least 2 transfer windows, I'm going to assume that being loaned out is the first step in the sale. :(

apparently bendtner had a great game again tonight for birmingham, the reporter on journalist called him a 'shining light' and said he looked quick, a threat in the air, strong and powerful. sounds like he could really do well up unitl january

A few superlatives for Arsenal's players:
Bendtner: "The 6ft 3in prospect again cut an impressive figure, combining sheer brute strength with delightful footwork and an assiduous work-rate. Bendtner had the ball in the net after nine minutes at the Stadium of Light but the goal was disallowed with Forssell having already strayed offside before supplying the killer pass."
Larsson was also commended, as was Fabrice Muamba, who was booked. Apparently Bendtner was unlucky not to have a second penalty on the hour mark too.

Muamba, Bendtner and Gilbert are very unlikely to be sold in the near future. Especially Bendtner; he has tremendous ability, could be our Henry replacement in the making. I'd say he's a better prospect than Walcott, even. 6'3", strong, great technique, good pace, he's like a non-headcase Ibrahimovic, a defender's nightmare.
Muamba and Gilbert are both still very young and regarded as great prospects.
Larsson is the one who may be in the shop window at BCFC. He's 21-22 and being loaned out, not a good sign. But you never know, we might recall him a few months into the season for more cover at LB.

Agree with this post 100 perecent. The three youngsters...they need at least two transfer windows with the first team before I'd even think of sending them away. They are too well regarded and are already making positives strides for solid clubs.

I'm watching the Stoke City vs Birmingham game now (on setanta broadband) and it hasn't been a good 1st half for the loan kids. Stoke outplaying BC so Bendtner getting no decent service and not able to do much with the long balls coming his way, Muamba fouling on nearly every tackle and lucky not to have a card yet, and Larsson has been close to the worst player on the pitch. Larsson's first half: poor pass, fk yards over the goal, lost his player who then gets off a cross, miskicks so the ball rolls out, passes straight to Stoke player, poor control kills one of the few counters BC has, etc...ugly.
Edit: game over...BC did better in the second half. Muamba earned a pk with a nice run in the box. Of course, Forssel had a tame easily saved pk. Larsson continued to play very poorly and was an early sub. I don't know enough about what options they have for his position but I'd be shocked if he started the next game. Overall not a great day for the loan players.

Poor Match today. It's not the players fault, it's the stupid, fat headed Geordie prat we have as a manager:mad:
Anyways getting that off my chest.

Kerrea Gilbert picked up an ankle injury playing for Cardiff against Coventry and was substituted at half time.
