They are there...I just can't figure out why none of the guys on the team have names...some problem with royalties or money with Nike (a la Ronaldo being id'ed as just #9 on Inter??)

No Eredivisie either...just Feyenoord, PSV, and Ajax

Also in the 2001 version, they had the dutch league but they did not have the real names of the teams.

you can just enter the names yourself.:D

Cost way too much for the licensing fee from the Dutch FA... unfortuntly the same thing applies for Fifa 2003...hopefully the newly defined game engine will make it for the loss of the Dutch League.

Portugese 1st Div is back for 2003.

Where are you getting you info on the new FIFA, out of curiosity??

I guess they just dealt with Feyenoord, PSV, and Ajax directly then?? Or did they get to include them because of the Champs League?? The only reason I would want the Eredivisie is because several American's play in that league on the non-power clubs.

I think the number of leagues featured is one of the definite selling points of this game...I don't know if I really care that the Portuguese League is in there...they had all the decent teams from that league in last year's game (Benifica, Sporting).

I think it would be cool to include the Nationwide League teams, just because most American (and I know the game is sold elsewhere) footy fans are relatively familiar with the English First Division.

I love Fifa been a fan since the first old skool edition came out when it was just based on national teams...anyhow here are some specs for the Fifa 2003 series....

1. New game engine will make the game completely different then any other Fifa series..including the recently released WC2002 edition. They say the ball will have a new feel to the game...in other words the ball will bounce like in real life, with wind, type of grass and power of touch effecting the trajectory of the ball....sometimes leading to goal mouth scrambles.

2. The graphics have taken a nice overhaul...stadiums will include real life atmosphere's..no more flags of both teams waving in the air..now you can expect to see signs of the home team...Man utd written on the St. George's etc... The players look a lot better too..more detail has been taken into account with the better known players...also keepers have the real kits and so forth.

3. As of right now it seems it will hold the usual 16 leagues..the new one being the Portugese 1st division...no under card leagues will be included, except when the season is over, the computer will automatically add promoted teams to replace relegated teams...but you have no say in who comes up, nor can you use those teams in a friendly situation..... The Dutch league is out again, except for the big 3 , like last year. Although I have read that Fifa might include 19 Leagues..not too sure on what the 3 extra ones would be..but I would put money on 16 only.

4. Right now the release date as been set for very late Oct....but those of who familiar with this product know that Fifa's release dates are always being pushed back.

5.... sorry for horrid typing job..at work and trying to fit this in between different odd jobs.

The same thing was true with World Tour Soccer 2002 (989 Sports). They had the Dutch team, but only Bergkamp's name is spelled correctly. The other players have names like Hasselhoff, Vansaar, Vanelroy, Davis, Klyverd, etc. Just enough misspelling to avoid suits.
