Martin Keown will be out for at least 3 weeks with his hamstring injury picked up against Blackburn on Saturday.

Ray Palour has stated that he is "frustrated" at not playing regularly this season. Although accepting his injury has caused problems, so have other players suffered from injury but are back. He concludes, "If things don't improve, then maybe I need to speak with the boss". Is that for a "pep talk" or to request a move?
With the Leeds deal falling through with the sacking of David O'Leary, I fear the latter.

Roberto Carlos insists that he is NOT looking for a move from Real Madrid to Highbury.

Valencia lose 1 - 0 at Athletico Bilbao on Sunday. Their second consecutive "La Liga" defeat. Let's hope that their current form extends to Wednesday!

In addition to Keown still being injured, Campbell and Seaman are both extremely doubtful for Wednesday's Valencia game, while Vieira is only 50-50.

We're beginning the most important week of the entire season, as we look to salvage/solidify our standing on three fronts. The first goal is to ensure entry into the next round of the Champions League; then, it's home to Everton on Sunday and a chance to get back on the winning track; finally, it's away at Chelsea a week from Tuesday to move on in the FA Cup.

We've got big-time players, a big squad, and a great manager. Time to get it done.

When Manure did the treble they benefited from a good dollop of luck. DB missing a penalty and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank scuppering our pretentions to the title.

We do have the squad and they've all been here before. If the will is there then all the recipe needs is a seasoning sprinkle of fortune. Perhaps a sprig of shamrock and a couple of pints of Guinness would be a good investment today.

Whatever happens over the next 8 1/2 days it's a heckova time to be a Gooner!

Regardless, it is a welcome relief from the reality of today and the unfortunate steps that must be taken. However, I am more concerned about Vieira and the injuries in the back. The back was picked apart last weekend and without Vieira to "motor" the team in front of a weakened defense (never forget how important Vieira really is), we looked quite ordinary. Here's to quick recoveries.

agreed on the luck part. any team that wins a treble needs at least a little luck along the way. injuries were not too much of a problem for us, iirc. supsensions? that's another story. have to disagree with ya on the DB penalty: the peno was saved by Schmikes, not missed by DB (missed is when he hits the post, blasts it over, or hits a tame one). one piece of crazy luck was when we played Chelsea and Flo fell in front of a goalbound shot, thereby saving a definite goal for Chelsea. each time I watch that I can't believe it didn't go in.
enjoy the ride, it's a great time for you guys. can't wish you too much luck as our paths are still together, at least in 2 comps. :)

Sol Campbell is having a "repeat" of his achealles heel problem which may put him in doubt for the game at Chelsea tomorrow.
