Just saw a promo on Cold Pizza that Adu will be on the show later. Tagline was: "Will he play for Ghana or the United States at the 2010 World Cup?"

"I would love to play the United States but if they for any reason dont take me I want to play in a World Cup and would pursue Ghana, though I don't know if I'm eligible."

adu was very diplomatic...

when asked what euro team would be like to go play for, he said, he wanted to stay with dc united as long as possible, gushing over the success the TEAM has had thus far.

still, if was a clear cut USA choice, citing his past play with youth sides...

he also said he wanted to give back to the usa based on the better life his family is leading since immigrating...

said he wanted to improve the usa game as much as possible, and while NOT saying usa would win a wc title, he said he wanted to achieve as much as possible...

espn tried to ambush him a couple times and he didn't fall for the tricks

what's the chance an average 17 year old would have communicated what his accountants and agents rehearshed him to say....

sort of a humble freddy, particularly the homage to dc united being a great place for him...

still, freddy will have dollar signs in his eyes saturday evening...

He is one savvy 17 year old.

More proof that he is really 42.

That would hurt us all if it is found out that he lied about his age.

so how come no one has been praising Freddy for being very mature and professional? when 3/4ths of this board was ripping Freddy for being selfish and all that shit?

That would hurt us all if it is found out that he lied about his age. No, it would hurt him. Because if it turned out that he was 23 right now, he would probably be facing some charges of statutory rape or for sexual contact with a minor. The fact that he decided to start dating a then 14 year old JoJo instead of some of the older knockouts that he could have easily had, mitigates him against being older, as many have suggested.
