News on the wires at the moment is that Reyes has been made a 'unique' offer by real, and has said that he hopes he is not picked for tuesdays game

Well .. those are the "hot" rumours in Arsenal. Since we're not getting anyone big, lets kick out some one big :D ..
Seriously, i dont think RM are really really interested in him rit now .. but this is one guy i dont mind leaving Arsenal. He's good, no doubt, but where's the proof .. and him always sayings things about the climate and stuff ..

He said our food was crap. I'd challenge him to say Paella is better than a legendary Pukka Pie in the middle of the concourse in the stadium!

Sorry for trolling. Just wanted you guys to see quotes from reyes' latest interview about this
I don’t know anything but the days pass and I can’t deny I’m a little nervous about the rumours. The truth is that I know the people [Arsenal fans] love me and that the fans are with me but I can’t adapt to this life. I miss Spain and I have a unique opportunity to go back thanks to Madrid’s offer.
Everyone must understand that I can’t let this opportunity pass me by. Madrid is unique.
The manager hasn’t said anything and I don’t know if I’m going to play or not. I hope not or that the situation is sorted beforehand. It’s clear that if I play in the Champions League signing for Madrid will be much more complicated. But I have to play, I’ll play.
We'll give you Gravesen as a freebie :p

I've been an arsenal fan and loyal supporter since the age of 8, or 11 years + now. I will tell you this right now, JAR is the most unproffesional, cheating, overrated, piece of monkey excremint to have ever played at Arsenal in that time. I love arsenal to death, but this is the guy whom i cannot stand to watch play. When I heard the news of his near departure today, I was up in joy celebrating. When he finally does leave, I will be doing jumping jacks down Pacific coast Highway.

Did you ever see much of Grimandi ? (and FYI, he's one of my favourite players)

If these quotes are real it sounds like the time has come to take what we can get for him and move on. Too bad, I really like him and thought he would be a great player for Arsenal. But if he's that unhappy he'll never be the best he can be here. Besides, it's not like he did a Landon Donovan and gave up after a couple weeks -- he's stuck it out for 2 1/2 years (right?), and has seemed to work hard.
Adios, Jose. (Awaits post from Rick stating that everything in the press is rubbish and JAR will be an Arsenal player for 10 years, living on a steady diet of steak and kidney pie and mild ale, with the occasional photo spread of him in a bowler hat and raincoat, tightly rolled brolly in his hand. :) )

Every source I've seen so far cites the Marca. Definitely don't take this one at face value.

Very true, you can't really have much faith in quotes coming out of Marca, but at the same time it's not like this is something we haven't already heard before. I for one, absolutely love JAR, but at the same time, I certainly don't want anyone wearing the Arsenal shirt who doesn't want to be wearing it. I say so long, good luck, been nice watching you, but out the door you go.

LOL.....priceless. I think after the 1/2 a season or so that JAR first played for Arsenal where he had 2 great goals vs. Chelsea in the FA Cup, he was outstanding, BUT other clubs figured him out the next full season and he never made the adjustments. Reyes is agile and fast, but so what! A teenager being chased by the police is also fast and agile!!!
P.S. Utrera and Sevilla, both in Andalucia, are not known for paella. Valencia is the paella part of Espana. Cumin, honey, and nuts are big in Andalucia...Arab influences. Tapas, sherry, Gazpacho/stews are big in the region too.

I have heard that Baptista is one of the players available as Madrid is trying to recreate their team.
We are strong on sides and weak in the middle.
swap A. Cole for Gallas (+ cash)
swap Reyes for Baptista( + cash)
I think we are a better side. In a slight profit, which can be put toward wages if thats such an issue.

I love either one of these deals. Billy, get on the horn with Wenger.
Let's make it happen.

I like those deals, but would we really get Baptista and cash for Reyes? I can't remember off the top of my head what Baptista's fee was last summer, but I thought it was higher than what we paid Seville for Reyes. Plus, I don't think Reyes as "appreciated" in value at all. I tend to think we'll probably take a loss, at least on pure money terms, nevermind the fact that we have to pay onto Seville.
