Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory in their pre-season friendly clash with Valerengen thanks to a late goal from club captain Roy Keane.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was the skipper for the night in his homeland, broke the deadlock against the Norwegian outfit at the Bislett Stadium with a penalty on 26 minutes after he had been felled in the area by Knut Henry Haraldsen.

A fairly even contest saw both sides creating good chances but the home team looked to have stolen a draw with just under fifteen minutes left when Pa Madou-Kah, a former United trialist, leveled the score.

A well-worked free-kick routine saw the Norwegian international work a one-two before unleashing an unstoppable drive past Fabien Barthez.

However, it was to be Republic of Ireland international Keane who kept United's 100 per cent pre-season friendly record in tact when a floated cross from Diego Forlan fell perfectly for him to control and slot into the net.
