i dont think this is possible but.. even though there are alot of teams not in it.. can we still pick those players for your custom teams? i would like de rosario on my team :D

You can choose any player you want for custom teams.

Definately in the current gen, I think the concern is that there will not be one in the XBOX360 version due to the fact that there are so few teams.

There are the European tournaments -- for the PC, at least.

I've played online twice -- the second was a bit laggy at times. My opponent tried a cheap move by booming the ball up, so his forward has a breakaway...until I took his legs out. Best part was that we tied when I scored an injury time goal to tie it :)
And I'm playing w/ Valencia -- very tough on pro level, still challenging on Semi-Pro! I sold David Villa for 55 million euro -- hey, Liverpool offered. The funniest thing was that a few weeks later, they wanted Morientes :)

BTW, in that podcast that they play, they said they were going to open up interactive games early, due to the national team play. They didn't. The only game I could play was America v Necaxa, and the latter never had players. America only has 50.
Disappointed that you can only play in Interactive leagues in England, Germany, Mexico, and France. No Spain, no USA :(
Night games are visually outstanding. I love playing vs. Villareal -- so that their uniforms stand out. Too many times it is black v blue, or something that is close. Next time I'll just pick a team with a standout jersey (red, orange, etc).
I wish EA would give the PC users a real interface -- they could fit so much more info on the screen, for example. But that will never happen...

whenever i use my right analog stick for 360 it just cuts the ball to that direction... like he will push the ball up forward to the direction you hit... do you gotta hold right bumper or something>?

wow so apparently EA only added the top european leagues ie: spain,italy,england,france,germany,holland. so no eastern europe and def no americas?
damn thats pretty crappy. but i guess they did it that way to enhance the players individualy from these leagues, would have been hard to enhance all the players from other diff regions as detailed as the top leagues.

You need to rotate it while in possession -- roll from up to right, up to right for a sidestep move...rotate all the way around, I think, for a 360. It doesn't work all of the time, that's for sure.

For the 360? Maybe. 27 leagues for the PC. Glad I don't bother with spending money on the system of the month :)

No, you'll only be able to choose players from the playable teams for 360. Frankly, I don't know if the 360 version will have custom clubs, since the player base will be so limited.
The reason there's only 6 leagues on the 360 version is precisely because the developers didn't have time to create the players in the new engine for all 27 leagues on the current gen systems.
If I knew that there would be the possibility of downloading additional leagues via XBL Marketplace, I might buy the game, but even then, there still wouldn't be any Cup play, and no real way to add it. It's pretty much a case of "wait till FIFA 08" at this point, when they can release a complete game.

3 major complaints about the game:
1. My first Manager Mode team was Hereford; the flags and banners were for Arsenal (does anybody QC the backgrounds at EA?).
2. Maybe it's my graphics card (PC version) GeForce FX 5200; the game consistently goes in to a spastic fit where the graphics go blurry about a millisecond long during gameplay, about every 10-15 seconds.
3. Crossing is a bitch; Heading shots is an even bigger bitch.

You have to vary your crosses between normal ones, early crosses, and low crosses. Aiming is more important this year. And sometimes the "lead pass" button is even more effective than a cross.
Heading is a lot harder this year. Unlike in previous years, you can't just repeating tap the shot button while the ball is in the air and expect to make contact. You have to jostle for position first, then press the shot or pass button (once).
I like this year's version because winning and scoring isn't automatic (no sweet spots).

My heading is awful so far, although in the last game, I finally scored on some corners by taking them short, then crossing.
I'm finishing up a first season with Valencia. I'm going to remake the team so that I have a good header up front. I think that if I "export team", I should be able to see this easier (once again, awful console-based interface).
And once again, there are things that aren't explained. Such as icons -- almost every player has an icon in his bio, indicating his specialty (target man, defense, etc). I have to write all of these down somehwhere. And what are the icons in manager mode on the bottom left? There's a lock, a flag, and something else...lock = job security?

A-league? I hope none...
Ran into a HUGE problem last night. Finished my last game of the manager mode season. It simulated the rest of the games...and crash. So I re-tried -- and the same exact thing. So I'm stuck until I/they can figure out what is wrong. There's no indication of any error, or log. It seems to be switching to a rendered movie, but I've had zero graphics issues on the PC yet.

Oh, and to answer my own question -- I went into the Hints area, where the explain all of the icons, such as the Lock, or the player icons (such as target man).

How likely is it that the A-league will be in FIFA 08?
Unless at some point in the distant future the US gets some sort of promotion/relegation system, I doubt very many games will include lower divisions.
