if the season started tomorrow, would our team be better off than at the end of last yr.?

i say no. b/c our main objective going into the transfer period was to bolster our midfield. w/ or w/out senna, one need only look at liverpool and chelsea's mf to see that our mf is not on par w/ theirs. notwithstanding the notion that, at the end of last yr., our defense and strike force were (one of) the best in the league.

instead of getting our objective fulfilled, did we take a step back in improving our mf, but at the same time (the same day) weaken our strike force?

How did we take a step back with Carrick?

We are where we were. Now we lost our best striker/finisher, but we are getting two midfielders, which we lacked last year. If Saha can stay fit, and do well against top class opposition, especially in Europe, then we will definately be better off, but with Saha, you never know.

well, taking as a whole adding carrick and subtracting ruud on the same day... i think that's my question

But the difference with losing Ruud is we have 5 or 6 other capable strikers. They may not be world class, but they are definately prem ready. Our midfield was in shambles and we added a quality player, gotback scholes, and will most likely be adding another player.

That's not logical math, thats FOOLS math. Duurrrrrr 1-1 must be zero!!! HYUCK HYUCK!!! It's not that simple. We did fantastic without Ruud, PLUS we've added to the midfield, that doesn't seem like a step back to me.

I think we will be okay, but its easy to look at what Chelsea has done this off-season and think we are the worse because of it.

Whatever happened to a new season bringing with it a fresh sense of optimism?

Why is noone ever positive ? I mean ********ing seriously

-Great Keeper in VDS

-Gary-rio-vidic/Wes-Heinze = One of the best in the league

- Ronaldo - Awesome young talent no matter what

-Krich looks better by the day

-Oshea soild for a backup

-Scholes is back

-Ole Gunner is back

-Park will get more play time

-Carrick will help us break down teams and keep
the ball

-Rooney will be even better

-Saha fit for a season

-Smith coming back with more passion than ever

-A great backup and future star in Foster

-Rossi,Both Jones's,Gibson = One of the best
young'ens in a while

-All we need is a ball winner we dont need a
complete team overhaul, Senna would be
awesome.

-Suprs will have trouble keeping all of their mid-feild players happy what if one of their strikers gets injuired ? Ledly King is out for two months.

-Arsenal are in deep shit at the back and they dont have much Iron in mid-feild (we dont have much either Senna should do IMO)

-Chelsea will (hopefully) have trouble fitting all the egos in

-Newcastle are always shite or choke

-Hell even Fletcher is looking good

-WE can finally play both 4-4-2 and 4-4-3

- why the ******** is everyone being drama queens ?

-Get one ball winner aka Senna

-Get one striker aka Bent,Tevez,Torres,Defoe
and we will have Fergies third greatest squad.

Be P-O-S-I-T-I-V-E ;)

-Krich looks better by the day -Dont lie to them dammit

-Oshea soild for a backup-Not been that good for 3 seasons

-Saha fit for a season- How do you know he will be fit for the entire season? We are talking about Loius Saha here.

-Rossi,Both Jones's,Gibson = One of the best
young'ens in a while - success for them isnt guaranteed (atleast with us)

-Suprs will have trouble keeping all of their mid-feild players happy what if one of their strikers gets injuired ? Ledly King is out for two months. - They still have Defoe, on the bench. Their midfield players are relatively young, apart from Davids and Murphy.

-Arsenal are in deep shit at the back and they dont have much Iron in mid-feild (we dont have much either Senna should do IMO)-They had the same unit last season, and they broke a record for clean sheets in the champions league.

-Newcastle are always shite or choke- Cant argue with that.

Well thats football, and its fans for ya.

-Krich looks better by the day -Dont lie to them dammit - Certainly better than two seasons ago, he's not doing THAT bad if anything he's been improving.

-Oshea soild for a backup-Not been that good for 3 seasons - that's why he's ''backup'' :o

-Saha fit for a season- How do you know he will be fit for the entire season? We are talking about Loius Saha here.- hope :(

-Rossi,Both Jones's,Gibson = One of the best
young'ens in a while - success for them isn't guaranteed (atleast with us) - Neither was for Scholes,Giggs,Beckham etc.

-Spurs will have trouble keeping all of their mid-field players happy what if one of their strikers gets injured ? Ledly King is out for two months. - They still have Defoe, on the bench. Their midfield players are relatively young, apart from Davids and Murphy. - They have 3 main strikers that was my point, plus im not too sure that Davids would be happy sitting on the bench.

-Arsenal are in deep shit at the back and they don't have much Iron in mid-field (we don't have much either Senna should do IMO)-They had the same unit last season, and they broke a record for clean sheets in the champions league. - But they lack in serious depth this season, Ashley Cole a main part of their defense wants to leave, Senderos is out, Sol ''baby'' Campbell is also out, plus we've all seen what happens when teams play a man's game with them.

-Newcastle are always shite or choke- Cant argue with that. -:D

My point is if we expect the worse we will get the worst, there's always a good and bad side to everything, stay positive :)

It's not that much negativity that our team isn't good enough. We know we have an outstanding goalkeeper, and outstanding backline, two of the world's best young players, and some great veterans.

We're just always coming off as negative because we're not winning the league anymore, or any other significant trophies. We can bolster our squad as much as we like, but when Chelsea buy Shevchenko and Ballack without flinching there's not much we can look forward to. I mean last season alone we had enough points to win the league but can we ever compete with them?

We'll win a helluva lot of matches if we can play 443.

Nah, we'll lose all of them. Playing VDS as a forward with no GK is a little too risky ;)

If we can stop losing to the likes of Porstmouth and Man City and draws with the likes of Sunderland... we can. The past two seasons we basically lost any hope of contesting for the EPL crown by mid October. With Carrick, a proper DM (yet to be announced) and a healthy Scholes and Saha (fingers crossed), I think we can challenge for the EPL crown. But only if we can get off to a better start than the previous 2 seasons.

Are Utd fans intent on driving Rooney out the club.

i thought we should have went 433 when ruud was at the club but i dont know now.. rooney and saha will be more than enough imo (scoring goals wasnt a problem at all last season). it was just our midfield that was piss poor due to injuries and lack of quality like oshea and fletcher (give em the arse, they have shown nothing in years) but this season it looks like giggsy and scholes are fit and carrick is going to be a star and in a couple of years ronaldo will be in the top 5 players in the world i reckon. ji sung is quality aswell.

we should definetaly beat out 83 points that we got last season

edit: my favourite united player heinze is back from injury aswell! :)

It's 4-3-3, or 4-4-2. 433 would give you 12 players on the field...
