In the semi-final action Zidan and Frings sealed the deal to book a finale meeting for the cup vs FC Bayern. Bayern edged out Schalke via penalty shootout.

haha, via penalty shootout? i hope we can score a goal. I'd also like to see Dos Santos out there to feed Podolski the ball.

Hmmm...Bremen is just a very very solid team overall.
I don't think we have the upper hand in Germany any longer that is able to beat any time at any time just like that.
Looking at Bremen's team, I just feel as if they have more dangerous players at the moment who can really step it up.
Excuse my pessimism but I think Bremen will take this one.....I'm gonna run for cover in the meantime.

Why? Because Bremen lost their offensive brain?

In all fairness, this can be a very tight game. Watching Bremen yesterday, they do look shaky at the back. After they scored their first goal, Hamburg was constantly on the counter attack and Bremen's defence always looked to be either too much upfront or not organized enough.
The key here is creativity, or Scholl. Magath should start him in the AM role to unlock Bremen's defence and feed our forwards.
Will Bremen score? Yea I think they might net one, but if both teams are up for it from the getgo, it just might be a goalfest, or at least end to end attacks.

true, micoud is a big loss, but boro and frings will be even better this year (although, definitely less creative) and that cannot be ignored...
and i have to say, ive been impressed by mohammed zidan every time i saw him play for mainz last season... hes a very tricky player, and will bring a lot to the table!
btw, whats the status on klasnic? is he still at bremen? for some reason, i recall reading that he got transferred somewhere when i logged on once during the europe trip...
those friggin 'space cakes'! :o

He is a much bigger loss than Ballack in terms of goals and assists. I'm not afraid of Bremen since our players will (have to) step up as well.

Let's not get a head of ourselves, Bremen have replaced Micoud with Diego who isn't in the Frenchman's class right now, but he has the talent and made some incredible through passes yesterday against Hamburg. He has to be neutralized.

ehh..I'd rate Diego a bit higher, and he will get more playing time this season than Dos Santos, that's a guarantee, but we'll see what happens.

How often do you have seen dS play?

How often do you have seen dS play?
not as often as I've seen Diego play, which makes my argument slightly more biased. But then again, From what I've seen of both, there's not much between them, but Diego has more experience therefore I'd rate him a bit higher.

What Diego is for Bremen is dos Santos for Bayern
You cannot compare them in terms of experience and skill.Diego has been in a big european club,Porto, and while there he capped 17 times for Brazil.Dos Santos has jet to prove his worth to Bayern. And given our transfer policy,he is bound to receive a lot of first team football this term.
I think Bayern will clinch the cup.It will be an interesting match, and I hope will end with a 3-1 win to Bayern.

Of course can I compare!
both have their caps for their national teams
dos Santos: 19
Diego: 17? 14? (I've different numbers in different sources; his own HP in the german section says 7 games in 13 nominations; only one in 2005 and none in 06)
[personal note: the number of caps doesn't say much about a players quality, e.g. Vampeta has his caps too (about 38 caps) but was he able to settle in Europe? Not really!]
and both didn't show much in Europe so far! If Diego had lived up to the potential the people think he has, Porto wouldn't have sold him ;)
Therefore Diego is an unready and unsettled player in Europe just like dos Santos

Its going to be a good game but I think Bayern win thanks to a Podolski goal

I'm surprised by all the pessimism about Bayen's 2006-7 season. Just cause Kalle and Uli lowered the absurdly high bar ( that winning the double is not enough for a Bayern to have a great season) does not mean we don't have a really good side. I thought that Owen was the best player for the Lions at WC, and Schweni, Lucas and Lahm were among the standouts for Germany. Willi should have had the assist that won the WC on another incredible cross. I am more excited about watching this very talented and young team come together, than I have been about FCB in a while. Lasst die jungen wilden spielen...Bayern wins cup!

What do you think FCB's starting line up will be for the final against Weder Bremen?
Do you think Kahn will start?
