Oh hell yeah, it's on baybee! :D

First off tonight it's about chasing the Great White on Montauck. The legacy of Frank Mundus the real life captain "Jaws" was modelled after. His biggest was a 16 foot 3500 pound monster he caught in 1985. Yowza!

Up next.....Shark Attack Survivors (chomp) :D

I watched most of the survivors episode. Educational to say the least. But I also couldn't believe the balls on that kid to have bait strapped to his hip while he fished. I'm sure he thought he was fine, but I've seen overhead video of Florida beaches. Sharks are seen frequently swimming around people without them even knowing. You couldn't pay me to stand out there in chest deep water and fish much less have bait on me while doing it. He's damn lucky all he lost was his leg.

And I don't think I'd ever have the balls to surf.

In light of the "Bears are bad mofo's" thread we had a while back, a great white would so ******** up a bear!

Too bad we don't have "smell-o'-vision". That would be interesting to smell what those researchers were smelling at Seal Island and when the sharks were feeding on that big ass dead whale.

Is that the one where the guy gets onto the whale carcass and takes pictures of the sharks feeding on it around him?

Yup!

On a sidenote....

I'm going back to Oahu in either November or December and I'm gonna look into some of those charters that go out specifically looking for sharks.

I went fishing last year and the mate swore his chum went bad. It all smells like it would knock a buzzard off a shit wagon to me. :D

Awesome trip dude! Be sure and take lots of pics...

Oh man, they're interviewing actual survivors of the USS Indianapolis, the story that Quinn told in "Jaws". Gruesome :o

Those guys who were tagging sharks off Ano Nuevo got in trouble with the Feds a few years back because they "chummed" using a dead seal (apparently against the law). They did this for a (different) TV show. Google >ano nuevo shark< and it will pop up.

By the way, is the [R] in the title to prevent people from reading this thread and finding out sharks attack people? :)

Nah, the [R] is for the peeps TIVOing the series.

Off Topic kinda, I picked up a CD by 'Wailing Souls' a South African reggae band and they do a song called Shark Attack. It's bad to the bone. :D

I loved that bit on comparing Sharks' bite powers. That Tiger shark has a mean one, did you guys see how it just took a chunk out of that dummy leg? Nevermind that real leg.

I was disappointed in the Mythbusters show on "Jaws". First they assumed a 17-19 foot shark. But it clearly states in the book that the shark is abnormally large at 25 feet. So what was wrong with assuming a 25 foot shark?

Then the segment where they rigged up "Buster" to punch sharks was pretty lame.

agreed. I didn't watch beyond that, Did Jamie eventually go down there himself to punch the sharks?
