damn dude....he is only 17..and if you watch the whole thing it shows more than just the seal. I don't think he's a bad pickup if he comes here in a few years..some more time at his club and some years at Lisbon would help him develop.
Perhaps you are right or perhaps you're wrong. Only time will tell, only time. But we need to start bringing in more English players into the team. If the kids gets much better I say we snap him up but if not...

Nah I agree with you on that, I don't want him now.

I actually just want some more info on that Brazilian youth program we have with Sao Paulo..since Rincon's "signing" to it 3 years ago I haven't heard jack about it.

We signed two 16 years old from Sao Paulo in June. They will probably go to Portugal when they turn 18.

Corinthians meltdown part two.

Evidently Mascherano came back from Argentina and got into a fight on the training pitch. Article also mentions some of Tevez's scrapes in training.

Rossi is very different from Tevez and Rooney, he is a classic Italian #10 who would thrive in serie A. His moves are short, sharp and considered, in comparison to those two he is a weakling (comparatively they are both Ox's) and he relies far more on movement and guile to recieve the ball in space. Rossi plays a 'clean' game, he does not want to go shoulder to shoulder with any CB, in fact, he avoids it at all costs. This means his natural game is to drift until he recieves the ball and I've noticed in this small period where he is playing the #9 he runs the line quite well. You can tell he is not a striker, but his game is based on getting that clean first touch and getting the slip on the CB so he can shoot - he's had no problem with that as a #9 (his shooting has just been awful these past weeks)

There is a lot more hope of Rossi-Rooney working then there is Tevez-Rooney, imo.
What are you saying that Rossi is afraid to mix it up and he all of sudden is not good enough to be a manchester striker. In conclusion all your previous posting of Rossi were wrong and missjudge him. Please try to be the next manager so that we solve all the problems of the club.

WUM me thinks, either that or one of the most stupid posters in existence. Attacking DS over Rossi when he is probably the person who has watched him play the most of all the people on this board.

It seems to me like you have a problem with reading comprehension. Feel free to quote me because I don't have a clue what you're babbling on about. In fact, I don't even think you have a point to your inane and bizarre rant.

Heh, there's people here who think I want to make babies with the boy for all the praise I've given him the last 2yrs, that's why I find his posts even more bizarre. *shrugs

Saw this on Red Cafe, it's a funny little animation which captures the Guardians thoughts on United this season: we will struggle

http://www.new-thinking.co.uk/theseason/

Nearly all the pundits in the main newspapers are predicting a rough season for United.

The Guardian Paul Wilson: 5th, not enough goals (Liverpool to win)
http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,,1843663,00.html

Mail on Sunday Ian Ridley: 4th, not enough goals

The Times: Joe Lovejoy: 3rd

The Independent
http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/premiership/article1218828.ece

Steve Tongue: 4th (Chelsea to win)
Jason Burt: 3rd (Liverpool to win)
Simon Turnbull: 2nd (Arsenal to win)

Ronald Atkin in the Independent picks United to win. Obviously he is on heavy medication

Interesting question. I could only find The Guardians predictions from last year:

2005, Paul Wilson, The Guardian: United to finish 4th. His comment was "Plenty of goals, but suspect farther back". That's turned out to be a prescient comment as United were top scorers but let themselves down at the back sometimes. I think he expected Arsenal and Liverpool to do better though.

LOL that's some funny shit right there man, for real. 4th???? 5th??? They're severely underestimating us and the talent we have now AND for the future, severely. But hey, what else is new in the ABU press? The stage is set for a title win against all odds.

Honestly though, when you look at it, we do have some problems if players dont change their typical attitudes. For example.

Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs are known as slow starters. Saha is injury prone, and then the normal injuries. I definately dont agree with their assesment, but I could see what they are thinking like that. The other teams have wasted no time in grabbing players they need and getting stronger.

I still expext us to be in the hunt for the trophy, though missing out on it. Its the Champions LEague that I am more interested in.

My assumption is that we will get Senna and that will be that. I'd imagine we have some more money but not quite enough to get a Torres or a Diarra. I'd imagine Fergie would rather not buy at all than waste money on "lesser" players.

If we go into this season with just Senna added then it's difficult to see us winning the league. If we get lucky with injuries (we have not been in pre-season) then we could catch Chelsea if they were to be as mediocre as they were on Sunday. But they will surely get their momentum going with an easy win over Man City next week.

And we would still have Liverpool and Arsenal to worry about. I think it'd be a close-run thing between us and Liverpool with the current squads, but if Liverpool buy Kujt then it would probably edge them ahead.

I think we would finish ahead of Arsenal based on current squads. However, we can expect Wenger to bring in a defender and a DM with the money from Reyes and Cole (which are not big losses to them). So it's hard to judge Arsenal yet.

All-in-all, I think we will certainly perform better than many pundits think. Carrick will prove to be a good addition to the squad and allow us to retain possession far better than last season. Having Heinze and Scholes back will be a great help to us.
But it's hard to see us winning the PL. The chances of Saha staying fit all season would seem unlikely. I also have some doubts about Senna. He was very dissappointing in the CL semi-final and I'm not sure if he will be the DM we really we need.

My crystal ball says City will win or draw with Chelsea... its a bit blurry, needs a cleaning. :)

As for Senna (if we ever sign him). I think he will be a monster in the EPL. I really think he is just the kind of player we need at the moment. He will alow the likes of Scholes and Carrick to do what they do best and not have to concentrate on defensive duties. I really believe he may be viewed as one of the best signings in the EPL by seasons end.

History shows you shouldnt write united off. It used to be to bounce back and win the league, maybe these days its to finish in the top four!!

With the right signings and I dont mean one, two I think, we could win the league, but I expect it will only be one signing. This season might be one for the kids - Jones if given the chance to make his mark.
