An early exit out of the UEFA cup might be a mixed blessing really. I do think that we'll give Schalke fits though. We shall see.

I like a French team vs German team matchup because its a chance to prove who is superior between 2 evenly matched leagues. This matchup seems similar to when Sochaux played Dortmund a few years ago. Small French club with a 20,000 seat stadium vs a large German club with a huge stadium who have massive amounts of fans. I can see pararells between Nancy vs Schalke and Sochaux vs Dortmund.

Issiar Dia, the talented under-21 French International from Amiens has signed with Nancy. The 19 year old was also being sought by Bordeaux and St. Etienne!

Saw the Toulouse and ASNL match on Setanta this weekend (God bless Setanta). Sorry to see us give away 2 points in the last minute but I was struck by how physical a side ASNL have become. We look like a mini Lille out there!

Big game tonight..... I'm going to predict a 1-1 draw and keep my fingers crossed hoping it happens. Schalke are no cupcakes so this should be interesting.....
I never would have thought that Nancy would be playing Schalke in a European match 2 years ago!

no courage to post final score mon ami? hats off anyway, and courage all is not lost. besides, schalke is a tough customer, you guys should be proud. look at what the others did, even though they were matched up with village green teams.

Yeah, too depressed. We really showed our inexperience at this level. 85 minutes ASNL stood strong and then got burnt in a silly fashion.... Ugggg..... Lets see what kind of courage Correa can muster on the return leg in 2 weeks.

You had to have expected this result unless you are an over ethusiastic Nancy fan. Schalke are a big club with some nice players. I thought they would win this match. Nancy arent ready for Europe yet. They couldnt pull off a surprise result.
