Aug. 6 - Still no word on a delay for the Toluca game.
Don't tell me Vergara is going to fly the boys up after their noon game on that day only to play at 5 Mexico time!

Is Chivas considering giving up three points to start off the league?
Or will the outcome of the Libertadores game determine which Chivas team plays in LA against Barca?

Did you see how Chivas played last season in the Liguilla with a lot of players from Chivas Coras? I dont think they're giving up on those 3 points...the Libertadores will not influence with whatever happens on August 6...

According to Vergara, Toluca's front office had apparently agreed to postponing the match but later decided to not go through with their promise.
Being the optimist that he is, he also said that it will not matter and that Chivas will win both matches anyway.
Sorry I don't have a link, it was in La Opinion newspaper yesterday.

In an interview of Bofo on Univision's Republica Deportiva, he said that for the Chivas-Barca game on the 6th, only some of the starters will travel to L.A. and that some would stay with the rest of the Primera A squad that's going to face Toluca.
I guess they're gonna try to salvage both games by splitting up the team. The young guys are fully capable of taking the 3 points from Toluca, so I have no worries there.
I'd have to think that the outcome of the Sao Paulo game will have something to do with what players are taken to L.A. since they'll be playing again later that week in the Liber final (If Chivas gets by SPFC on Wednesday).

I think he meant players like Sol, Patlan, and others..

No worries eh.. Toluca is one of the strongest clubs in the MFL right now. Gallego has shaped them up quite good, certainly candidates to fight for the league title. Their defence is one of their stronger points and I really doubt Chivas reserves will break down Tolo Gallegos scheme, which just shut down Pachuca in two staright games.

I'm fully aware of Toluca's capabilities, however, I have full faith that the Tapatio kids will leave it all out on the field.
I would never rule out a Chivas team before a game is played, regardless of who's on the field.
A Libertadores semifinal, one goal down and on the road against the defending champs.
2 games in 1 day. One against the biggest team in Europe, and another against Toluca and their clamshell defense
For Chivas fans, this is a vital week that will determine our mood for many weeks to come. If we win them all, we'll be euphoric. But if the opposite occurs, it could be disasterous.

Chepo reserved our best central defenders for the Toluca confrontation, which is more important than the Barcelona game. However, who is going to stop Ronaldinho, Giovanni, Eto, and Gudjohnsen? Does anyone know the level of play of the central defenders in the first list (other than Maza's)? I am looking forward to the two games and expect our Chivas to win both. Vamos Rebano!

The central defenders from the first list are really good maybe even better than the players on the second list...

Thank you for the clarification terrible15. This is wonderful news! The three players you mentioned are they playing for Tapatio? Trusting in what you say about these players, I hope we would see them in the first team very soon. As I mentioned before I do not want Maza and Magallon in our defense. Your news gives me great hope! Thanks again.
