Hey guys,
Im planning on taking my son to the Community Shield for his first ever football match. He is not a club member (yet) so my question is: If I buy my ticket tomorrow when it goes on sale to members, can I then buy his ticket when it goes on general sale and still manage to sit next to each other? Or do I basically have to wait and buy our tickets together when it goes on general sale?
Anybody else going? Dr I? Nice?

I'm going.
There is pretty much no chance for you to be able to purchase a ticket for your son when the go on general sale (or if).
The best bet would be to wait until the week after next when they go on sale to two per member, although you won't be able to get as good seats as you might be able to tomorrow, you've still got more chance of getting two together.

Thanks Scott. I was thinking of when the members could buy more tickets... was just hoping I could 'reserve' us better seats :D
Thanks again!

Funny, I was having that same dilemma as well. Tickets won't go to general sale , but you should be alright if you wait a week. Or you could just drop the kid and go by yourself!

Yeah if you wait a week you should be fine.
I went real early this morning and by the time the box office opened there couldn't have been more than 20 of us there.
Demand wise you should be fine, I can't see it selling out to be honest.

Since the world cup, the kid has been going football mad and when playing video games with his friend, supports just about anybody including a certain north london team so I thought I'd take him and steer him in the right direction :D

Hi Mother Goose, yes i will be there I have my ticket and train Ticket already booked. I don't think it will sell out either, I see that the club had to cancel the train charter and so far have only sold 3 coaches worth. I think people are fed up with the trek back from Cardiff to London.
If you want to get two tickets together you have to buy them at the same time.

My girlfriend's taking me to the game, (as she's a Liverpool fan). As she's only an armchair supporter, she's hoping she'll get tickets when they go on general sale.
For the community shield, I'd imagine there'd be spare tickets available at the general sale stage. I'm sure there were for Chelsea last time. In fact I pretty sure Chelsea didn't even sell out their allocation...

LOL srd! His Dad won a game for him at his school fair and rather than going for the stuff toy, he went for the blow-up bat booby prize :D Oh, and I cant wash them quick enough before he's asking to wear his Chelsea kit again!
Dr I, I still havent decided if we're going by train or driving. Do you think the M4 will be a problem coming home? The train would probably be easier but I remember queuing for about an hour to get into the station after the game. Mind you, it was Arsenal last year and had both set of supporters going back to London.
Miles, Im sure it wouldn't sell out but I just wanted to get good seats. It didnt sell out last year but I got my tickets late and sat high up in the back :(

I know you asked Dr I but Cardiff is an absolute git to get home from, especially by driving.
Train I should think would be the better option, Chelsea did lay on a train but it was withdrawn because of not enough interest, but it's plenty easy enough to book etc.

Thanks Scott. The train's more fun for him anyway so I guess that's what we'll do.

Nah, dont be silly, she's a girl, so she just picked a team she liked, she's actually from somewhere near York, and moved down when she went to Warwick Uni....
