It appears Pino will return, but the question as to whether he'll get much action hasn't been resolved. At the moment, Pino's right wing role is taken by Serge Gakpé, even if Gakpé has been used as more of a forward at the moment due to injuries. I'm aware that Pino can also go into the center, although there's a crowd there too. In any event, much of this will likely depend on what the club does during the summer transfer period.

I've read the article in FF about your new president. Sure, it's hard to say that Pastor did a good job as president, but Bontin aims to be champion with an austerity plan. If I had to remember a word from this article it'd be "austerity".

Bordeaux want Menez but probably won't be able to meet ASM's asking price.

It's been a mediocre season, but on the plus side actually, the CFA team will likely finish with the best record among reserve teams of L1 clubs in CFA, which isn't a bad thing. After all, there are good ASM players in the making, even if they may not debut in a L1 match all that soon, though with the expected turnover, they could.

We can speculate now which players will be leaving. I think I read that Monsereau will be gone.

I don't think Monaco will miss Monsoreau, Schwechlen is coming up and already Sambou has displayed he's as capable as Sylvain, if not a bit better. Oh, and it may interest you to know, Sportboy, that Ménez, coming on at HT, turned the match on its head. Auxerre, which I know that you abhor, dominated early on but Ménez was able to beat the out of their defense. Apparently Nenę and Meriem were also solid.

I don't think Menez will leave this summer but there are a lot of suitors out there. I wish Berthod would leave soon. I forget that Meriem is still there, Its hard to follow this team when they are bad because they get less coverage. They arent a "beloved French team" so when they are bad no one wants to acknowledge them. Thats why I know more players on OM than on this team.

We finished in 12th place and got destroyed by Les Verts 4-0. :(

Looking at the lineup in that game, I can't say it was not that likely an outcome. Even if it was nice to see that Zola and Pinau happened to be on the bench. If they keep on improving, this team will be better.

French-American takes over as president of Monaco. Maybe a couple yanks invading the Frenchie league next year?

I don't think that anyone at Monaco would mind if Altidore was on his way, but I don't believe that de Bontin will be a very good president, so I wouldn't much count on it.

Why do you think that ?

I have sources. Though in short, the criticism on him is he's a guy with decent ideas, though very much lacking in execution.

It seems like the good ole days are dead and gone. When I see stuff like Ricardo wants to sign Illan, it confirms that. Illan is a reject who St. Etienne doesnt even want anymore. Its true that a team like St. Etienne have now blown right past us. I dont want a Piquionne-Illan attack which it what St. Etienne used to have. That'd be dreadful. Savidan would be better but not by much. I hope the club's ambitions really havent fallen this far.

According to France Football, Monaco are after Thiago Silva (Fluminense), Leo (Gremio). They also have targeted 2 american players (Maurice Edu and Ricardo Clarke). Anyway, De Bontin wants to regulate the salarial mass therefore many players will leave Monaco (Ménez at St-Etienne ?).

Menez to St. Etienne is just another rumor. I put as much stock into it as I do all the others. He's not a high salary player I dont think because of his age. I'd imagine they'd try to hold on to him if they can. Better to get rid of the high salary players who arent producing. Like Berthod for example.

Wow what's with the American introduction to ligue 1? First Bocanegra signs with Rennes now, this rumor? Edu has a lot of upside to his game and would be a good signing I think. I'm not so convinced about Clarke though, I don't think he has what it takes to play at this level of competition week in and week out.
