Koller Eyes Feyenoord Switch (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overseas/holland/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=international_feed/07/08/16/SOCCER_Fra-Monaco_Koller.html&TEAMHD=holland)

Monaco striker Jan Koller is interested in a move to Feyenoord, according to his agent.
Pavel Paska also said in an interview with www.fcupdate.nl that the 34-year-old Czech frontman would decide on his future by the start of next week, with a transfer to Germany also an option.
"At the moment nothing is clear," said Paska. "The only thing that is certain is that Jan still has a contract with AS Monaco.
"The coming days we will spend looking at the possibilities. I expect to see Jan decide on Monday or Tuesday whether he stays with Monaco or leaves."
If the player does decide on a change, Paska believes Rotterdam is a possible destination.
"Feyenoord is a big club, a top club," he said. "So for Jan a transfer to there is an interesting option - especially because he knows their coach (Bert van Marwijk) from his spell at Borussia Dortmund.
"But Feyenoord is not the only interested club. Jan can also go back to Germany. So if he chooses to leave AS Monaco, Germany and Holland are the choices."

I wish this guy would just honor the final year of his contract and he did say he was gonna stay until it was up ! I wouldnt release him because he waited too long in announcing his displeasure thus there is very little time to find a replacement. I thought that the striker situation over at Feyenoord was also pretty crowded.

Monaco lack Flavio (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overseas/france/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=international_feed/07/08/17/SOCCER_Fra-Sochaux_Preview.html&TEAMHD=france)

Monaco will be without goalkeeper Flavio Roma for their testing trip to Sochaux in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
The goalkeeper has been ruled out for between three and five weeks with a left thigh injury sustained during the 2-0 win against Metz in midweek.
Roma will be replaced by back-up keeper Stephane Ruffier as the principality club try to make it two victories in four days.
After claiming just one point from their opening two games, coach Ricardo will be relieved to have got a win under his belt against Metz.
Having Diego Perez back in midfield after a spell on the sidelines is a bonus, according to the Brazilian coach.
"The return of Diego Perez has done a lot for us," said Ricardo.
"He stabilises the midfield and recovers balls, which allows us to have a better rhythm of play."
Centre-back Sylvain Monsoreau should be fit even though he is nursing a thigh injury while Camel Meriem could also return, but Lucas Bernardi is still not ready.
Francois Modesto could be handed the captaincy with Roma out.
Sochaux have grabbed only two points so far, but they have come from away games at Paris St Germain and Lille.
In their only home match, they lost 3-1 to Le Mans last weekend.
Left-back Boukary Drame (ankle) is still out, while striker Sebastien Grax (knee) and captain Jeremie Brechet (back) are struggling.
Centre-back Rabiu Afolabi hurt his thigh against Lille in midweek and is the latest player to be sidelined.

Monaco snap up Nene from Celta (http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=391467)

AS Monaco have bolstered their squad after agreeing a deal to sign left-sided Brazilian midfielder Nené from Celta Vigo for around €7m.

The 26-year-old is expected to be presented by the Ligue 1 side on Thursday after undergoing a medical in the Principality, only a year after moving to the Galician outfit.

Nené has been the subject of interest from various clubs in recent seasons as Tottenham Hotspur were said to be veryb interested in securing his services.

No concrete bid was ever received from the north London club by Celta and now they have struck a deal with Monaco after coach Hristo Stoichkov gave the green light to his exit.

Celta knew that they would have to trim their squad following relegation from the top flight at the end of last term and could not turn down the sizeable offer.

After beginning his career with Palmeiras, Nené played for Santos before heading to Spain where he enjoyed a year with Mallorca and two season at Alavés before joining Celta in the summer of 2006.

Stoichkov has moved quickly to add to his squad though, as he has brought in Vitolo from Racing Santander and Mario Suárez from Atlético de Madrid, both on loan.

Kleber confirms Monaco offer (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/23082007/58/ligue-1-kleber-confirms-monaco-offer.html)

Santos defender Kleber (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/kleber.html) has revealed that Monaco have made an offer for him.
The Ligue 1 side have made a £4.5 million euro bid to bring the Brazil international back to Europe. The player has previously played at Hannover 96 and FC Basel.
The 27-year-old revealed the move after Brazil's 2-0 victory over Algeria.
He said: "They have already spoken with me so I only have to wait for authorisation from Santos.
"I will be back in Brazil on Friday and that same night I will be concentrating on Santos playing against America next weekend."
The president of Santos, Marcelo Teixeira, said that he doesn't want to sell any more players unless there is an interesting financial proposal.
Teixiera said: "At this point the idea is not to transfer anymore players from our team because we have built a squad for fighting for the title. The only way that we will accept another transfer is if an interesting financial proposal arrives."

Thought I'd say that I'm back to backing ASM as after the PSG win, some of my cousins were very sore winners, which I didn't like at all. Anyway, thought I'd give an update on how our amateur teams in the CFA (the minor leagues) are doing.

Our CFA team is actually in 2nd, in a tie with 3 other teams. They are doing the best among the L1 CFA teams (i.e. they are seen as "Monaco 2"), by having suffered only one defeat in six matches. More importantly, here are some guys that could get promoted soon to the senior team.

Léo Schwechlen (89, central defender): Some have called him "Gaël Givet II." Other have compared him to Philippe Mexès. According to many, his skills are more similar to Givet, though he plays more like Mexès. D'oh! In any case, he is a strong defender who reads the game well. Has had a lot of international experience on the France U-18 team. We will see him soon, especially if some of our defenders turn in mediocre performances.

Distel Zola (89, defensive midfielder): Zola has started every match except
one where he was gone for international duty (which interestingly enough, was the team's only loss), and he has had steady performances, and even scored a goal. He is a leader (he has also captained the U-18 team), with good physical strength and has good instincts, though he has to work on being able to do more with the ball in the attacking third. If any of our DMs turn in sub-par performances, don't be shocked to see him be in the squad.

Malaury Martin (88, defensive midfielder): Martin was the captain of a France U-19 team this summer, and he's similar to Deschamps in style. He's a single-minded defensive mid who won't make many mistakes, and he does have quite a decent shot on free kicks, while he's scored 3 goals in 6 matches this year! Martin has already gotten some matches in L1, though at this point, it appears management wants him to continue his development among the amateurs.

Cédric Mongongu (89, defensive midfielder/right back or left back): Mongongu already has a couple of L1 matches under his belt, and he's been good in his matches among the amateurs. At 1m87, he is quite tall and strong, though there are those within the organization that feel those are his only positive attributes. In other words, he's got the size, now he has to learn how to pass, defend, etc. He's already a good aerial threat, though. Mongongu's been inconsistent when he has been called up, hence he will likely continue on in CFA for a while.

Djamel Bakar (89, right winger/striker): Bakar is a winger who makes a bunch of runs down the flanks and he's a good crosser. He's also a good scorer, as he has had 3 goals in 4 matches. The negatives on him though are that he's very diminutive (1m71), thus he can be bullied out of games and on occasion, completely disappear. He also is seen by a few as being too much of a solo artist, as despite having good crossing ability, he'll ignore teammates completely if he believes he can beat his defender. Given the depth we have on the flanks (Gakpé, Ménez, Pino, Nenê), it's hard to see him having an impact this season.

On the plus side, we're off to a much better start than we were then, though I'd expect us to beat Valenciennes on the road. We've been slightly better on the road this season than in Louis II, and if we're able to keep Savidan at bay, I fully expect Ménez/Koller to give the VAFC defense fits.

Did you see the Tommaso Rocchi rumor ? I think it would be great to bring him in next year to replace Koller but I do think its kinda a longshot to get him.

It's always a long shot to attempt to get any decent player from a higher league, though we can likely offer a good salary as well as other big benefits (mainly taxes) to him. I would definitely like signing him, though, he'd be our best striker that we'd have since the days of Adebayor/Morientes.

http://www.asm-fc.com/docbase/home/homimgdirect.jpg

Meriem, Berthod, Lescure and Sambou are out injured.

Projected onze de départ:

VAFC:
- - 28 Pujol - 9 Savidan - -
18 Roudet - - - 10 Belmadi
- - - 17 Sánchez - - -
- - - 23 Saez - - -
3 Rippert - 4 Sommeil - 12 Chelle - 2 Ducourtioux
- - - 1 Penneteau - - -

ASM:
- - - 9 Koller - - -
11 Nenê - - - 10 Ménez
- 7 Bernardi - 23 Leko - 5 Pérez
13 Muratori - 22 Bolívar - 4 Modesto - 25 Cufré
- - - 30 Roma - - -

I think this lineup is too defensive, as I think we should try to go for a win against a team who is not that good against attacking sides (losing to offensive-minded Le Mans and Saint-Etienne). I would start Gakpé and Pino, with only one defensive mid. I'd also bench Muratori because he was very disappointing against PSG.

My ASM Lineup:
- - 11 Nenê - 9 Koller - -
10 Ménez - 20 Pino - 17 Gakpé
- - - 23 Leko - - -
25 Cufré - 2 Monsoreau - 22 Bolívar - 12 Adriano
- - - 30 Roma - - -

In any event, I expect that we'll be able to shut down Savidan, and if we do that, I think we'll get a win with Ménez dribbling past a couple of VAFC defenders for a goal.

Welcome! I think the only way to see the match or parts of it at no cost is sopcast, try this: http://myp2p.eu/Matches/Match6.htm.

Adriano, Monsoreau and Piquionne are starting, which is good, I think, much more attacking (though why Gakpé isn't starting is something I don't get).

D'oh, Audel scores, Muratori and Nenê can't deal with Mater on the Valenciennes right wing, Ricardo appears much displeased.

A few minutes into second half, we're doing a bit better than in the first, which was disastrous as we allowed an early goal and Ménez got himself sent off. It'd be very nice at this point if we could somehow eke out a draw.
