The proposed owners group have not gotten the fans involved regarding the team name and jersey so I thought I would do it.

Team Name: I really have no clue - here are some suggestions off the top of my head.
Club Du Saint Louis
Rouge St. Louis
Three Rivers SC (St. Louis is at the convergence of the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois Rivers.
Gateway SC
Nine St. Louis (St. Louis was named after St. Louis IX)

Team Uniform:
I always thought the City Flag would make a great uniform

Names I like:

1)St. Louis Wanderers
2)St. Louis Athletic
3)St. Louis Blackbirds
4)St. Louis Rovers

The above jerseys are not bad, I like the idea of having the flag of STL incorporated somehow.

I'm really a huge fan of having the statue of St. Louis with his sword (in front of the Art Museum) as the main part of our club crest.

This security company already uses it, but alterations could be made to make it unique to the club.

I would hope the potential owners are thinking about things other than the name and colors of a team that doesn't exist.

If st. louis does get a team then please for the love of Saint louis stay away from red. Not to confuse them with any one else but there our some optional color schemes out there that aren't being used because for some reason american soccer fans seem to be oppsessed with the color red. I hate comparing coloring concepts to european sides because it brings up the topic of eurosnob and fans don't want to be associated with a european side but arsenals kit they went with last year maroon/white was a good color and it would be unlikely that any team in the mls would ever adopt anything remotely similar for the time being.
Im not really concerned about mascot names if they are not cheesy. I just hope st. louis gets a side it would be a great place to have a team.

I like your initial thought for the kits. However, I agree with the other poster that we may want to stay away from red. Some many other clubs already use it, Chicago, Dallas, New York Red BullShit . . .

The name absolutely needs to include "St. Louis." This is the identity. People need to immediately see the name and know whence the team comes. "Three Rivers" does not do that.

Also the name needs to stay away from silly nick names, e.g. Fire, Burn, Wiz, and the worst of all names, Crew. Pitiful.

Keep the name simple. Make sure it has class and strength. If possible capture the great heritage of St. Louis Soccer.

Examples:

St. Louis United
St. Louis Soccer Club
St. Louis 2007
St. Louis Soccer Stars (bit of stretch, but gets to the heritage requirement)

Finally, someone who realizes Munich 1860 and others is the date the club was founded - not Munich (Houston are you listening)

If you were going with the date, I would just go with "St. Louis '07"

I like SLFC or AC St. Louis

I like the uni's - I like the idea of incorporating city flags into jerseys. Makes it mean something and usually looks good.

The second suggested jersey (white, wide central red stripe with blue parment) seems to be somehow a carbon copy of one of Paris Saint Germain FC former away jersey...

As long as St Louis may refer to a former French king...it could be relevant at some level...

Yeah, they are thinking about how to get someone else to pay for a stadium that doesn't exist. ;)

The prerequisite for a uniform is a team, and the prerequisite for a team is a stadium.

It is fun to discuss the possibilities of uniforms and players to sign, but prospective owners shouldn't be chastised for not discussing them yet. If/when St. Louis gets a team, then fans should have some say over the team name and/or colors.

I think the name, if ever a St. Louis MLS team, should be St. Louis Mounders.

I like all of those, but I would also add "Spirits of St Louis" as a name that ties in to the history of the city.

Also, given the color schemes in the leage, unfortunately, our city colors have been used quite a bit, but a nice color scheme that would be available would be sky blue and navy. And given MLS's desires to lift color schemes from other teams, something like the Argentina uniforms could be a nice addition to the league.

I will let other people find a stadium space. I want to dream.

St. Louis Crusaders
St. Louis Stallions
STL FC

I would love the red and blue. PSG, or even better the vertical stripes of Barcelona. The Red and Blue would cover both the red of the Cards and the blue of the Rams/Blues

As for a stadium, once they find a location I truly hope they consider 2 things:
1) Make it look attractive. I don't like these fields that look like glorified high school fields (Columbus?) Give it some design like the Home Depot Center or the new stadium in Leipzig Germany. I want to enjoy the stadium as much as the game.
2) Room to expand. Build a 20,000 seat stadium now, but have a way to expand it when STL outgrows it in 10-20 years. No use building another stadium that soon when you can expand the stadium you got. Unless its ugly, then build a new one.

Why is Fire a dumb name and Arsenal a good one?

I like AC St. Louis too. I definitely think the name should be European based.

No, I believe that it was the indoor football team in St. Louis, but yes around 1994.

I like the jerseys. Remind me of my old cub scout council patch. As for the name, hmmm, I don't know, at least they could get away with a French reference.

St. Louis Chivalry...An old St. Louis Browns logo had a sillouhetted King Louis IX, St. Louis on top of the crest. I think there are soooo many possible primary, secondary, and tertiary logos. Me, I'd prefer the primary logo to be a knight, secondary a dragon. Colors, well..I still LOVE the USFL Michigan Panthers' royal plum, champagne, and light blue combination...

Why is Fire a dumb name and Arsenal a good one?

arsenal is named for the tradition of being the royal army's footballing club, made up entirely of members in the army, hence, their affiliation to being called 'the gunners'
