Crespo and Maka....JM said he was giving the guys over 30 a little break. I was surprised to see that they are our only two outfield players over thirty.

If you are refering to the official signing session, it's Sunday not Saturday..

Does anyone else get mixed feelings seeing those photos? I mean on one hand it is nice to have such a turnout, but how many of those people are true supporters? I bet half the crowd would have trouble naming more than five players on the team, a youth player or even the name of the stadium. They probably would give you a funny look if you asked them about Zola or Osgood. Let's not become United :(

Yeah, I understand.. I was there, and I am not a Chelsea fan.. I am Argentinean and a River fan, and wanted to meet Crespo (he started off in River and is.. well.. Argentinean). You would see a lot of other people with different jerseys.. I saw many Germans (who were obviously there to meet Ballack), quite a few Argentines (to meet Crespo, like me), many people who were there to resell the autographs, and a lot of people who were just walking on 3rd Street and said "hey look, some famous people are here.. let's get their autographs".. I still ended up not going in, but if Argentina's national team was here, for example, and I didn't get to get my jersey signed because a lot of other people who don't support the team went in instead of me, I would be ********in pissed..

I definitely understand why you and other people would show up to meet footballers from your country or who played for your club.
It's just the "fans" who show up in the kit and really have no idea what the club is about. Even people just going to make some money don't piss me off becasue at least they aren't pretending to be something they are not.
I'm just worried that we're becoming a club like Man Utd that whenever you look around you'll see a Chelsea kit. There will always be the other London clubs holding their areas, but if the rest of the world hops on the bandwagon it will be dissapointing. The increased profits are a plus, but it might not be worth it.

The club itself, will never agree with you though.
Thats exactly what they want to see, and the very reason they are in the US.
