This Saturday Curt Johnson will be in lot C10 to do his yearly Q&A session with the fans. This is NOT a Cauldron specific event, so even if you don't stand in the section please feel free to come to lot C10 and ask a question. But if you do, then you must stay and enjoy our tailgate as well. :)
I have not gotten a confirmation email back from Curt this week. We settled on this over a month ago so I'm going on the assumption that it is going to happen. In the event that something has come up and Curt can not be there we will reshedule this event at a later date.

Dear Curt,
Who is the one person you absolutely don't want to follow into the can for fear of asphyxia?
I bet it's Jimmy.
Signed,

Ok
what topics should not be asked of Curt?
the sale I think would be one thing, just because he wouldn't(shouldn't - doesn't) know...
What else?

I'm not sure why we even do this anymore. Curt won't (can't) give a straight answer on any pertinent questions we ask. All he (is allowed to do) dishes out is spin.
I can understand his position, but it doesn't provide us with what we want.
Cauldron, "Curt, is the sale of the team to the Cerner boys and a new stadium a 100% certainty?"
Curt, "Ah................................... maybe. We're still working on it. There will be an announcement in 30 to 90 days."

Since I'm away unfortunately on a Family Reunion this weekend.
How about stuff like,
What is the status of Arrowhead being a venue for the Wizards during it's rehab? What sites have you narrowed it down to if it's unavailable.
Why can't you buy legit team jerseys in the Pro Shop at games? It's only T-shirts, Hats and Stickers.
Is the Zard program really all that successful or would we be better off not interrupting the game to display that Johnnie won a free Frosty.
Can we get a Got Milf mom of the game?
The AT&T half time ball roll is lame. Roll a ball 10 feet onto an ad? At least bring back the penalty shot through the banner. Or one of my favorite tailgate games was chip the soccer ball into the trash drum. It's harder than you think but looks easy on the surface.
Papa John's Magic Minutes needs to happen in the 60th minute.
When are we going to sign the black cat? We've haven't won since he crossed our path. We need to do him some good mojo to even things out or bring in a Shaman to break his curse.
Fire Chopper/Dynamo, Hire Crazy George.
Close more sections of seating and merge the crowd closer together for atmosphere purposes.
Player interviews and visual biographies on the video boards during pregame and at halftime or at least highlights of the past couple of games. If that costs too much effort bring in the limbo dance thing over from the Royals games.
Home opener is Team Schedule Magnet Night period. Not game 2,3, or 4.

Some good questions here, mine: along the lines of half time... bring back the bubble race, that was good for a laugh. :)

Ok... don't anyone kill me.....but this is a joke
Q: Can we say f* at the tailgate or is that prohibited also.
-------------------------------------
This could actually be funny if whoever asks went on and on like..."oh sorry, I said f*! Oh f*, I said it again...f*!"

Actually, a few years ago, Tyler and Josh won the giant soccer ball race at halftime. Won a crapload of Tia Rosa tostada and tortilla shells.....and a t-shirt I think.

I'm not sure why we even do this anymore.
To keep the precedent in place for the next guy. Plus, who knows, maybe Curt will actually talk if he doesn't think that there would be any ramifications for his doing so.

Look at it this way. At this point one of these two things is likely going to be true - possibly both:
1) Curt Johnson will not be working for HSG
or
2) Curt Johnson will not be General Manager of the Kansas City Wizards.
If he's not going to be working for HSG next year, why should he be too concerned about the tight-lipped party line? Remember that Curt used to be far more talkative when he first started. If he's still GM next year, it'll be for new paymasters.
Frankly, I wouldn't be overly shocked to see Curt move on to either Columbus or Dallas. He's been a great loyal soldier for HSG. He's gotten very good results on very meager support, and he's run a tight ship.

My question if I'm there (might be going out of town). "Curt, would you like an Irish Car Bomb?" If he takes and it and the season turns around, I will give him all the credit.
Well, not all. I would get some credit for asking the question.

Well, I set it up again so the fans have an opportunity to speak face to face with the GM of their team. There's not very many chances for sports fans to do that. It's an open forum where you can literally ask him anything you want. If you word your questions the right way you'll often get the information you're looking for whether he actually says the words or not.
That said, I'm not sure it's even a good idea to ask Curt about the sale or anything related. Unless what we all know isn't true I don't think Curt has a whole lot to do with the entire process. I also don't think he knows any more than most of us. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. And if he does know stuff he'd be under the same gag-order that Sam, Greg, etc. have been under.
I'd keep the questions about the team. Maybe ask about what it's been like to run a team that is for sale. How has the atmosphere changed over the last couple of years. Gansler/Bliss related questions, since that just happened. Remember, this is a guy who has a ton of uncertainty about his future. I'm not saying take it easy on him, but keep that in mind. I don't envy his position one bit right now and I think it might be nice of us to keep that in mind when we meet with him. I know some people like to take a lot out on Curt, but he's embraced us (for the most part) more this year than any other year and he's nice enough to do stuff like this. I don't want it to be a bunch of fluff where absolutely nothing is really discussed, but I also don't want to see us rake him over the coals on topics that we all know he either doesn't have control over or can't discuss with us.
