Siaka Tiéné played with Ivoiry Coast against OGC Nice in left defender place (Nice 2 - 3 CIV). Today, Bilos is in Londres with Argentina selection wich play against Brasil. Lamine Diatta and the young neo-green Bayal Sall are in Kinshasa to play with Senegal against Mozambique for eliminatory's african cup, Ilunga for his part must be with the Congo selection (but he was with saint-etienne yesterday... it's strange). Feinduno will not play 'cause of international suspension but will be with the guinean selection to support his comrades.

Next match in les Ardennes against Sedan...

I watched Argentina vs Brazil and the announcers commented that Bilos played a really good match and looked impressive.

Bilos played an alright game. He was forced to play too much defense as the LB wasn't exactly great. He didn't do anything particularly spectacular, but he certainly acquitted himself well for a NT debut, especially when you consider it was against Brasil.

famous game because of the volley by Larque who is not only a great commentator but was also a great player.

I have put tons of ASSE videos on youtube:

seasons 74/75, 75/76, 76/77, and some memorable games like Hamburg vs ASSE (the 0-5 one) and ASSE vs PSV (the 6-0 one).

Looking forward to this season, though it should be better than the slow burn of last year, where expectations were peaked due to the performance of 2 years ago.

Anyway, ASSE should be in the thick of things contending for a much needed spot in European competitions. A CL spot may be a bit too much to ask from Hasek, but a UEFA spot should be the goal. I think that the additions of Ilan, the soon to arrive Marek Heinze (is it the Jan. transfer window?) and the very promising Fredy Guarin will certainly help. Looking forward to following the exploits of Les Verts throughout the season.

Heinze is already with the group. Not sure though he's gonna help much.

Robert Herbin, a.k.a the Sphinx, talk in the newspaper Le progrčs about the derby.

"There has enough of this referee. Malouda is off side of one meter, it returns, it is always in off side position when it receives the ball. I understand that one can be mistaken on an in-depth call when that is played ten centimetres. But there, it is inadmissible. Moreover, it is apart from surface. And this red paperboard! When one sees the fault... It is really not obvious! The referees awaited the occasion to give pleasure with I do not know who. Finally you see who I want to say. It’s enough. It’s enough also of this set language of our so-called technicians, who are not it besides any more, of Canal +. It did not objectify any more there. That revolts me. They are charged to sell goods. Referees does also. They try to circumvent the facts not to contradict the decision which was made.

However, I found the first period of the ASSE interesting. In second period, the Lyoneses were more dangerous but, overall, we held. I regret on the other hand that we move back ourselves after having equalized. We did not know to prepare times of play, we gave again the ball to the Lyoneses quickly and after the expulsion of Diatta, that became difficult.

In certain situations, we sought too quickly a partner in front. At this time, it would have been necessary to make run them because they had lost a part of their serenity. We did not know to seize the occasion.

We made a good match, even if there were some imperfections. Ilan would gain with being more collective. It must learn how to think with its partners. Risks should be taken, but not in a systematic way. It left in actions which were dedicated to the failure whereas it could be pressed on its partners. With my direction, Feindouno was not badly insofar as it raised of wound (...) One cannot nothing reproach Hautcoeur on the level combativeness, generosity, solidarity but it makes two errors.
Guarín is pleasant surprised (...) He is generous even if sometimes he pushed its action a little far. It is collective, is replaced well, defended well, had a good acceleration. This match is more than positive provided that this state of mind is translated with each match, that we improve the preparation of the play.

I repeat it, but this penalty, I do not digest it. They make very to go against what must be football. One preserves best parcelled out with the detriment of the others. Stop the craps. For a few seasons, there has been always a small litigious trick which supports the OL. And the commentators of Canal + pass sponge!"

Nice win for the reserves. The usual 4 offensive options were out.

Schedule for la Coupe de la Ligue

Quarts de finale les 19 et 20 décembre 2006
Q1 : Lyon - Nancy
Q2 : Sochaux - Le Mans
Q3 : Rennes - Reims
Q4 : Bordeaux - Saint-Etienne

Demi-finales les 16 et 17 janvier 2007
Q1 - Q2
Q3 - Q4

A possible Lyon - St-Etienne final at the stade de France... That would be awesome. However, Bordeaux away next time is gonna be difficult.
