Too bad, but understandable. I wanted him to stay long enough to pass Wynalda for leading scorer.

It was an incredible run. I'll remember it every time I put on my "McBride" jersey.

Even though he never was my favorite, he always carried himself well and deserved better from the team during his last matches in the national jersey.

Always the hardest worker on the field . He really did set the standard for the American player . Always working for his teammates and the fans and everyone around him . Thank you Brian .

Do we have any proven quality at his position at the international level currently? Some may say EJ, but realize who his goals were scored against and then you would have to reassess. Twellman? Nope, at least not yet. Ching, ditto. Anyone else?

Always a pleasure to watch. I'll never forget the diving headers and the passion he had.

if anybody deserves a farewell match, it's this guy. think of all the blood, broken bones, concusssions, etc. this man has suffered for us and his country.
like somebody stated, I wish he had stayed on long enough to get the record, even though it will be short-lived (it'll be landon's soon enough). he deserved the honor.
but either way, he's got the respect.

I was at the Venezuela game in Cleveland for the send off series. Since Brian didn't get any playing time he stayed out on the field with a trainer after everyone left the field and after all of the fans had left the stands. The guy's a true inspiration to the team and to me personally.
Thanks Brian, good luck this season.

Would be great to see after the MLS season a Crew/USMNT testimonial. Bring back Friedel and Doctor Khumalo :) for a proper sendoff.
