According to the Fox Soccer Channel Printable Broadcast TV Schedules, FSC may be airing the last Ligue 1 matches that people will see on their station for awhile.

The week of 7/24/06-7/30/06 is the only upcoming week schedule that has slots for Ligue 1 matches:

Allez Lyonnais, and Gutbomb discovered that the remaining weeks do not show any slots for Ligue 1:

It sounds like bad news for Ligue 1 coverage on FSC.After losing the rights to Setanta Sports it looks like FSC can't even show classic Ligue 1 matches. They also probably can't air a Ligue 1 highlights show either. Not good :( .Currently, FSC has not updated the 7/24/06-7/30 schedule with the matchups for Ligue 1 , but when they do I will update the thread.

So will Setanta be airing League 1 now? Shit I haven't been paying attention. Someone will surely be airing L1, Setanta or Goal TV.

Yeah, Setanta obtained the rights for the 06-07 Ligue 1 season.

That sucks. I was at least hoping they would have the highlights show. They show J-League and A-League highlights shows without showing any full matches.

I also noticed that they still have Bundesliga coverage slotted in. Supposedly they were getting rid of that as well.

Also, I asked this in another thread, but no one answered.

Could someone tell me how many matches per week are aired on TV5?

I'm not sure.I checked their programming schedule for this week for you and I did not even see any classic Ligue 1 matches. The only sports programming for this week on TV5MONDE USA is Terre de Sports. Here is the football page on TV5MONDE:

Exactly, which is why I don't see why they can't still show a highlights show for Ligue 1 during the next season.I think the Bundesliga slots are tentative since the rights for Bundesliga in N.America are still up for grabs. The Bundesliga is charging a very high price for their tv rights so they are still up in the air.

This really, really sucks. I created a thread, but is there any way to watch L1 online?

There probably is, but after all the looking me and other Ligue 1 fans in this forum have done we have not found any.You would think that Canal+ would have online streams of Ligue 1, but they don't.There are ways to watch the EPL,La Liga, and Serie A online via streams and P2P, but so far no one has found any of that for Ligue 1.I guess there just isn't a large demand for Ligue 1 football.

TV5MONDE Etats-Unis and TV5 Quebec/Canada take one Ligue 1 match each week, usually on Saturdays at 11:10am ET. The TV5's also take a highlights show produced by Canal Plus each Sunday morning (10am ET in Canada, 11am ET in the US). TV5's 3-year deal with TWI/IMG Media ends after the 2006-2007 season.

Setanta Sports USA has access to up to 3 Ligue 1 matches each week plus a highlights show, all produced by TWI/IMG Media (using video originally produced by Canal Plus). Setanta's new deal with TWI/IMG Media is for one season ONLY.

FSC has NO rights to Ligue 1 this season other than a few seconds of news highlights supplied by SNTV (an AP/IMG joint venture) to be aired on FSW Report on weekends.

setanta looks like a good deal, although w/ my student budget any expense is a little much.
I remember last year streams were on and off, with the first quarter of the season always available, but i guess authorities unfortunately started cracking down on goaltv1 and goaltv2. So it's up in the air...

poooff.... *sighs of relief*

For a while I was REAL Scared guys when I heard FSC will no longer carry coverage of Ligue 1!!!

I thought maybe for those of us in North America who are lovers of this ligue.. its over :(

But thank god Setanta have stepped up and acquired rights! 3 matches per week + highlights show sounds good to me. :)

Even better than what we had which was ONE match from FSC per week plus highlights show.

Now I can have these 3 and hope that the one TV5 shows is a 4th different game. ;)

Again thanks a lot Joe and everybody for the info. IT seems we're not doomed. :)

Yeah, but those of us (including myself)who don't have Setanta or TV5MONDE are in trouble.

Yeh I feel for you guys. :(

I hope you find a way though and if I find anything about Ligue 1 matches on 'internet', I'll let you guys know.

I heard you can get some via newsgroups, pplive, but I'm really a computer novice so I don't know much about this stuff myself.

It is still a might, in my opinion.Setanta Broadband's site says:
"Setanta Broadband is a new service from Setanta that shows some of the great action available on Setanta Sports, allowing you to watch it on your home or work computer."
http://www.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/broadband

ilv2 I also am considering to subscribe, but I think the best thing to do right now is wait a little while so we can see how many Ligue 1 matches will be available on Setanta Broadband.
