So I just moved to UH Manoa for grad school. Obviously road trips to DC games are a bit problematic from here, but I was wondering if there are any local United fans.
Are there good places to watch games in Honolulu? Is anybody interested in watching games as a group?

Invite me over and I'll split the cost of Dish Network with you! :D

I lived there for 3 years and never found a place to watch games on the MLS package. You can get Dish Network and buy the package, it just takes two dishes, one of the two is huge.

I find myself out there a few times a year. This year was Oahu, last was Maui/Big Island. Next year is looking like Kauai. I wish I could find a job that wasn't tourist related out there (I don't want to live in Honolulu) I would move.

Aloha.
I'm at UHM as well.
And while I see that this was posted a while ago, let me try and help out by saying, I have Oceanic Digital, so I get the games on ESPN2, FSC, and FPT/FSW. So I definately watch a lot of games.
The only place I have found that will always put a game on for you, if they aren't showing it already is the Cove Bar in the Ala Moana shopping center. Its a little touristy feeling for me, and a really random place to watch a game. But its not to bad, and I've enjoyed it when I have had to go.
So PM me or just post back here and I'll get a beer and catch a game. Otherwise I just watch them with my roommates or g/f.
However I am only sort of a DC Fan. Mostly just a passionite neautral. But I lean towards LA/DC in gratitude of them coming out and playing in Hawaii.
With any luck LA will at least be coming back out this spring. (No continental commitments this time I bet)

Is that near the yacht basin? I've never been to Hawaii, but the entrance to the Ala Moana yacht basin looked like (at least from my High School era "Surfer" mags & some itinerent surf movies) a really cool place to surf - with a really great curl. Of course you'd need to dodge the boats going in and out.

I wouldn't say its to super. but ya its around there. Lots of good (small but consistent anyway) breaks just east of there.

Btw, I am still in Hawaii if any United Fans are looking for people to watch games with this coming season.
I am really looking forward to the Thursday night game.
