I still got the memory burn in my mind.. it was when I was a small child around 9 years old , I remember when some dude told me what team you go for?? So I didn’t know much about soccer and I told him I go for chivas and America , that was the only teams I know by there name.. later that day the guy told me ‘hey chivas are about to play right now versus Atlante… so I was okay, I wasn’t really into watching soccer on tv, but after that day I got addicted, I remember when chivas beat atlante 5-0, then the next week they beat another team 4-1 cruz azul I think it was.. during the time when travieso guzman was playing with chivas . I was like WOW this team is a machine in making goals, ever since then I watch every chivas game , the only time I cry was when chivas beat Morelia in the last couple minutes , in 97…

well, believe it or not, I was originally an americanista.

calm down, calm down... i was only 10-12 years old.

my whole family was americanista, so i felt like it was the right way to go when i first started watching/playing soccer.

my dad was the only chivas fan and since i spent most time with him watching soccer, i 'changed' teams... haha i would get lynched nowadays, but i was very young and did not know anything about soccer.

ever since ive honestly loved chivas, and im not throwing that word around like it is constantly... i truly love the team... i actually feel more passion for chivas than the national team... its weird, but i do... i still havent seen chivas win a championship either, and i dont want to know what ill do the day they do... tears are guaranteed, at least...

so thats my story... kinda boring but oh well...

viva las chivas!

HAHA! HeHe I've been Chivas fan since I watched Mexico at the confederations & world cup and I loved the way some of the Chivas players played, Bravo, Sanchez and Salcido(even though he's moved to PSV) especially. So I started watching them mostly in Copa Libertadores and highlights of their league matches and I am pretty passionate about them !

I came very close to being Pumas fan !!! In the summer of 91 my Unlce, who was visiting from Mexico, invited me to watch the final between UNAM and America, but i was not into footy back then and declined the invitation.

My parents where not into footy. My old man liked Boxing and my mum well she's not into sports but her father and grandfather were big time Chiva fans, so you can say I was genetically predisposed to being a Chivas fan.

The way I became a Chivas fan was through my friends father and his friends, all from Ciudad Guzman Jal. I would visit my friend but stay with his old man and friends, all bakers, watching Chiva games. Then they started inviting me to games at the Coliseum and to watch the liguilla at local bars..

Anyways in 97 I got to watch the Chivas destroy Toros Neza to lift the Liguilla for a record tenth time; becoming the only Mexican club to have ten championships. America doesnt have ten because one of their stars is a prode 86 tourney, not a liguilla because a) they didnt face every team from the league and b) they only played like eight games to win that cup, which eliminates any validity of a LEAGUE title.

And speaking of the devil i cant leave out one of the most memorable wins in a Super Classico, which is now even more sweeter because Lavolpe was the coach of America at that time..

And now we get to witness Chivas making history in the Libertadores. And also Chivas USA has become my home team. Indeed, I was born a Chiva fan and destiny has made sure I remain one.
