Fantasy players ---- the time has come to sign up in the Black & Gold fantasy premier league and try to knock off the defending champs, Wandering Yanks.

It's at an English site: Fantasy Premier League link and it's the slickest, most professional, and most interesting league going. Totally free, and guaranteed to keep you glued to Fox Soccer Channel every Saturday. You'll be yelling yourself hoarse every week, I promise.

Last year there were --- if I recall --- over 200,000 teams but only eleven in the Black & Gold League. That campaign was a nail-biter, with four or five squads battling to the wire. (Incidentally, the top six teams all had Frank Lampard. The bottom five did not. Coincidence?)

You won't have the resources to fill out a team of all-stars, so it will be important to pick out some lesser names who might be on the verge of breaking out. Thinking back to last year, players like Mido from Tottenham, Taylor from Portsmouth, Anton Ferdinand from West Ham --- these up-and-comers gave their owners lots of mileage for a modest investment.

Just click on the link above, register, select a team (you can change it without penalty until August 18th), choose "join a private league" and then paste the following league code into the box:

152169-29494

The league has a message board. I'll see you there!

I don't think that gives him any real advantage. I'm confident that his teams will all finish in roughly the same position, even if they do have different players. The gameplay and strategy are very important and having more than one team doesn't help at all in that regard.
