Does someone know if the DFB is planning to remove terraces from stadiums following FIFAs directives to slowly shift to all seater stadiums? All competitions, Bundesliga matches too.
Here in Argentina the Argentine Football Association decided that as from 2007-8 all stadiuns would have to be all seater, no exceptions for all competitions.
I am hoping someone tells me that the DFB told FIFA to stuff its directives, which would mean that maybe if a campaign against this meassure takes place here in Argentina there is a precedent for a negative.
Thanks for your answer.

Lets hope never. :)

The DFB won't do it, cause in 90 % of the stadiums the terasses are the first places who selled out. Exclude B. Munich.

Personally me, I try every season to get a terrasse place.

It`s the finest way to watch fussball.

I agree, its not safe, but its also the most fun and sometimes now, the most football in football now. :(

It is much safer than if ppl would stand up at seats (as they are forbidding it in England now). I hope it will allways stay this way, there would be riots if the DFB planned on changing that...

agreed. terasse season ticket holder for 5 years now, it's by far the cheapest and best way to watch football. i can't see them to change everything soon. they know exactly that there would be quite a breakdown in attendance.

The german fanbase is a very strong one and they will defend the right to have stands in the stadium. But so far the DFB didn't dare to make a resolution of that kind. If it happened the fans of the clubs would unite and protest it. I think they would eventually succeed. remember the time the Bundesliga wanted to change the kickoff time on Saturday? The "Pro 15.30" movement was very strong and able to put a lot of pressure on the Bundesliga. After all without the fans there would be no Bundesliga.

I would seriously consider ever going to a stadium again if this happened...

But I also dont think that they will dare to try this, not within the next 5 years anyways, who nows how things look then...
The german fanculture is a strong one, we unite when we feel we have too, and can overcome all rivalries! this has been shown in the past and Im pretty positive it will happen again!

"Sitzen is fürn Arsch" is all I can say to that! (seating is for the as*)

imagine they'd try to ban terraces...whole Dortmund, Schalke etc. would go mad!

The fans would never accept that. Not possible here imo.

The only all seater is the Olympiastadion right? Most of the Fankurve don't sit. I don't plan to either when I visit. :D

Munich belongs to Northern Italy anyways, so who cares? ;-)

to be honest...i don't see what's so dangerous about it all?

in Germany, people jump together...but that's IT...It doesn't look really dangerous and it isn't.

in South America, the fans leave the 3 front rows empty so when their team scores everybody RUNS to the front. Now that's just stupid, it's like alcohal...Use it responsibly and you won't hurt anyone including yourself ;)

Leverkusen is an all-seater, isn't it?

And modern terraces are much safer than the old-school ones.

I meant the Berliner Olympiastadion.

I think you are also right Alex. But for these stadia, the fankurve stands, so its not as if they're really sitting anyways.
