Everton fans are quite like that to be honest, even in Goodison, they're not really the singing type. Before and after the game is usually when Everton fans are signing or slagging. So yesterday was not an anomaly.

But it's more that obvious that they can be very loud. Their support after the 0:1 was the best away support I've experienced at Frankenstadion (even better than Frankfurt)!

Its on NSNO forum, just click on the link in my signature.

Thanx. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Yep, but I've been to Goodison when they played Arsenal, when there is a late goal, you'll never see fans erupt like Everton fans! ;)

Lets get back on topic. Bielefeld away is next for Nurnberg...should be a hard one.

Just about. But like I said, they're not really into singing.

It was wonderful to hear that the Everton and Nurnberg fans got along real well last night. :)

Heard a lot of stories of fan article trading and such. Just wished I was there :(

I agree on it being wonderful. I do wish I could have made München and Nürnberg, but I would have needed Franz' helicopter.

Then again, no thanks. It was just too rainy and windy! LOL!!

any news on nurnberg's interest in derek riordan?

the lad has a ton of talent and for whatever reason gordon strachan won't play him. he needs to be playing regular first team football and most definitely has the ability to succeed at a high level.

i hope for his and scotland's sake he gets a move away from parkhead.

both nurnberg and lokomotiv moscow have been mentioned with a possible january swoop for him.

any likelihood of it materialising?

I know that they were interested in him when he played for the Hibs and can imagine very well that they might be interested to sign him in the winter break (since they have serious problems in attack) ... however, I don't believe that Derek will be willing to move to the Bundesliga! To be honest, I think he'll go back to Easter Road or move to the EPL. Even Moscow looks more likely to me (he'd surely get paid a higher wage there)...

I'm still pissed that GS doesn't give him any credit at Parkhead (I don't think that Zurawski, Killen and McDonald are better)!

i'd disagree about mcdonald as he's proving his worth with his goals so far this season. he'll hit 30 before the season finishes and i doubt derek could hit that. i'd agree that he's better technically than killen but the comparison is unbalanced as killen is a big, target man who was bought to back up hesselink. agree about zurawski, i think he's finished.

as for the idea of going back to hibs, it won't happen as they can't get anywhere near his wage deal at the minute. hearts have been mentioned in scotland but i don't think he'd move back to edinburgh to them. it would create far too much off pitch troubles for him to make it worthwhile. after what happened with gary o'connor being unable to settle in moscow riordan won't fancy russia.

which leaves nurnberg as the front runners if they're seriously interested in signing him still.

Do you really think he'd come to Germany? I'm also not sure whether Nuremberg would be able to pay him that amount of cash he's earning at Celtic Park...

well i don't know what nurnberg's pay structure is like but i'd be inclined to think that he would take a shot at the bundesliga given the chance.

first choice for him would be the prem but the only team mentioned with an interest so far is derby county and that's basically saying you're going to be playing champonship football in half a season's time.

well i don't know what nurnberg's pay structure is like

I suppose that the national players Charisteas, Saenko & Vittek (all strikers, the last one will be out for the rest of the season) earn around € 800-1,3 million.

but i'd be inclined to think that he would take a shot at the bundesliga given the chance.

I'm a little bit sceptical about this, as we rarely get players from UK to Bundesliga (Kevin Keegan, Allan McInally & Paul Lambert were exceptions) ... especially due to language barriers and the fact that we can't pay high wages like in the EPL).

I'd like to see Derek here in Nürnberg, but I don't think he'll move to Germany. Would be great if I'm wrong, though.

Now definitely "good night".

Here's Hans Meyer's Everton post-match and Bielefeld pre-match analysis for @ JensLehmannsGirl (she still seems to be heartbroken).

Very important away game in Bielefeld this afternoon! In the case of a loss, 1. FCN would be 5 points away from the first non relegation spot.

Borussia

Simply incredible what happened after the interval! Nürnberg was the clearly better team in the first half and took a deserved 1:0 lead ... but finally conceded 3 goals after the interval (the 1:1 and 1:2 caused by poor defending on both wings)! Nearby Mintal frivolously missed 2 great opportunities to score the 2:2 equalizer just 6 resp. 5 minutes before the end...

5 points lag to spot 15 - I'm really curious what will happen now. Somehow I've got the feeling that Hans Meyer might retire...

1. FCN urgently need the win, but they couldn't beat their most feared opponent Borussia Dortmund since 03.04.1992 (I remember that 2:1 victory very well, since I was at stadium with my brother and 2 friends)! At least Angelos Charisteas seems to be back...
