Well, my realistic side tells me one thing about FCN against Jena, but my heart of course, hopes for another. We'll see what happens. I always hope for the best. I support my boys no matter what.

And I've seen it in here, and at other places. Like I said, thanks guys, kick us when we're down. :(

What did I say? They are out now, although they played almost 50 minutes in numerical superiority! :rolleyes: Not even their PK "killer" Daniel Klewer could save them from the disgrace.

Don't know what's going on with them this season (don't forget they had the best defence and a very decent attack last season)...

we held on to coaches too long too often before, not make the same mistake again

obviously all his magic his gone, you can't tell me all of the bad matches are down to injuries and bad luck. nobody can tell me that.

You have been incredibly successful with him for 1.5 years ... and now you want to sack him after the first setback. That's true fans...

Btw: You'll never need to fire him ... since I'm sure he'll retire on his own under certain circumstances!

look at the whole year 2007. erase the cup out of your head. add the matches in the league we had so far (2nd half 06/07 + 07/08)

not only we are playing really bad, we are not making points, at all. he's not able to pull out his magic tricks anymore IMO and atm people are just still blended by the big berlin moment...nothing else.

it's just the opinion of a few, or maybe just mine, but if we are not going to change anything soon (either make points WITH him or try it WITHOUT him) we are going to be bottom of the league without any chance of staying up by the beginning of next year.
at the moment i rate our quality of play even below cottbus, and that's just disgraceful

Did you forget on which spot you had been (with 6 points!!) when he took over in Nürnberg ... and how many points you picked under him since that time? You finished 8th & 6th and won the Cup - do you really think that's a bad performance concerning the financial prospects in Nürnberg?

I saw only 3 really bad games from you this season: Bayern, Fürth & Wolfsburg. The problem is that you don't convert the chances (Charisteas couldn't fulfill the expectations, whereas Vittek & Saenko are/were injured) and concede too many silly goals (Glauber, Beauchamp and Reinhard are out of form, Pinola is injured).

Talk about negativity.

Are there any good unemployed coaches in Germany at the moment? If there arent any, why replace someone, apparently so poor, with another poor coach. Its not going tohelp the club progress.

Kneejerk reactions are no use to anyone. I mean there's another 6-7 months to go for gods sake- Let him get you back to mid table obscurity and take some time finding a new coach if its required then sack one mid season with no-one in the loop already. :rolleyes:

Without Hans Meyer in 2006, nuernberg would've been relegated almost certainly.
With him, they finished 8th, a very respectable position, especially since it was only their second year after being promoted.

Last year they played a great season, finishing 6th in the league ahead of clearly superior sides such as Hamburg, Dortmund and even Hannover imo.

Then they wn the cup, their first success in any cup in 30 years I think.

Now they're having a bad season so far, but the team on paper also isn't that good. And they mde the uefa cup group stages despite playing a pretty tricky first round opponent.

To sack Meyer now would be as silly as it was for Cottbus to sack Sander(even though he got them promoted with a very mediocre side, then kept them up with easily the worst side).

Things can change, you should give him AT LEAST until the winter break to try and return form to you guys.


Btw, TOLH and footyfan, it seems like you guys were right, this team really is bad atm, the Frankfurt game may well have been a one-off, despite what I thought.

Now you play us on Saturday, a game both sides will need to win as both are poor at the moment. It's gonna be a great one i'm sure, we'll see who wins it. But now i'm confident again.

I'm going for a draw in this game, since Charisteas will be out and Stuttgart can't afford to lose the 6th away game in a row ... whereas the hosts can't afford a home defeat.

We'll see.
