wanted...

After watching him in the Dutch league I'm glad he never came.

Forget about it.. FCN couldn't score in a brothel today. 0-0 FT

Good performance by Nurnberg, undeserved result.
Clear the better team, but when your strikers
don´t striker (ok, to call Charisteas a striker ... ,
he missed three 100% chances) you can´t win a match.

Not impossible to advance after a 0-0,
but it will be tough in the returning leg.

Hans Meier got his clean sheet, but damn this could be costly at the end. Perhap Saenko will add something up front in the returning leg, I really hope he will. I still can't believe that Charisteas missed all those chances, yuck!

Surely no brilliant, but surely a good performance from Nuremberg tonight ... especially after the interval, when they totally dominated the game! However, it's more than obvious that they have some serious problems in front this season (especíally, since they have to replace such top strikers like Vittek & Saenko). It's simply unbelievable how many chances get missed by Charisteas (not only tonight, but also against Hannover)!

Rapid was the expected strong opponent in the first half, with decent technical & tactical skills and 2-3 good scoring opportunities ... but got under big pressure after the interval! At least they have a solid defence (Nürnberg couldn't create many top chances despite the pressure at the beginning & in the 2nd half) and very dangerous attackers (Boya, Cesinha & Buga)...

A 1:0 would have been totally deserved for Nürnberg, but the 0:0 isn't such a bad result either. It's gonna be tough in Bucharest, they surely won't be without chance tough...

Did you see the impressive choreo? The atmosphere was superb as well, I think.

It seems that Nürnberg couldn't compensate the loss in power from Thursday night's UEFA Cup game. Simply don't understand why a team has to travel to a BL away game only a few hours after such a tough international match...

After the 0:1 defeat in Hamburg, they are on a relegation spot now ... and it seems that they'll face a very difficult season...

Yea, they really need Vittek and Mintal back.

Klask

Mintal has played all bundesliga matches this season, they hardly miss him .

Errr...I meant the old Mintal ;) should have made that clear.

Errr...I mean the Mintal that was the Bundesliga goal leader, not the one always injured ;) just to make that clear too

Fo shizzle. In that case, I doubt he'll ever return back to the old Mintal. Would be nice though, a guy actually scoring more goals on a month than Charisteas on a whole season :p

Seriously, I would rather have Yoshua Kennedy instead of him...I wonder if Benko will get a chance.

Klask
24 Sep 2007, 10:06 AM
Why not try Kennedy from start. He can't possibly be worse than Charisteas this season, and I think he's even better in the air than Charisteas.

Don't know about Benko, the guy doesn't seem to be getting any love from Hans Meier.

Because Kennedy blows too. But I'd definitely try him instead of continuing to trot Charisteas' sorry ass out there.

And why don't they give Chuly Pagenburg another shot?

Another painful home defeat against Leverkusen, although they dominated the game and had a few very good scoring opportunities. They simply don't manage to score, whereas the defence (Wolf & Glauber had to be replaced by Spiranovic & Beauchamp) always has its black outs during the game.

Seems to be a very tough season for Nürnberg...

Even more bad news for the FCN fans  :

Javier Pinola got a serious injury in the game against Leverkusen and will be our for the rest of the year!

Peer Kluge is man of the match. Again a ************ defensive performance from Nürnberg. Nürnberg defense this season and last season are two different worlds. Nevertheless an entertaining match, and Nürnberg scored 3 goals so there's something positive about it too.

Nürnberg defense this season and last season are two different worlds.

That's true! It seems they can't compensate Glauber's & Pinola's absence.

Thanks to my former Borussia darling Peer Kluge, they managed to take the lead twice ... but in the end, they can be happy to have scored the equalizer.

Btw: What a poor attendance in Bochum!

They surely won't get a result against Rapid on Thursday with such a defending...

Klask

They kept Rapid from scoring at home that's always a plus, now if they could just get a tie 1-1, that would be great, and at least Saenko is back again.
I hope they won't play at the same time as Bayern so I can watch the match. At least Saenko is back again.

Bochum should be ashamed bringing the leagues average attendance down;)
