Hah, I felt like creating a thread again - the last one must have been months ago! :D
The draw is today - and I really hope we get to play some cool village team! This will be a nice break from kicking out Bundesliga clubs, like we did in the past 3 years... :D

It is gonna be a tough game in Dresden, possibly the hardest draw for us. We historically suck against East German teams in the last years, especially in important games, the stadium is gonna be a hexenkessel (=like hell) and there won't be too many Hanoverians making the journey because of DD's fans reputation...
That said, it is tougher than it look on the paper, but we gotta win!
Interesting is that there are a few derbies going on with the teams from the area. Both BTSV and the VFL have to play Northern German teams..

Great....St. Pauli........
Great...Bayern... that was my first thought.
I wonder how many Bayern players yelled "Shit... St. Pauli, not them again !" when following the drawing in front of their TV sets. I bet some did :)

I'm pleased with our opposition, i doubt we could've gotten an easier first round game. anything can happen in the Pokal, but still, this shouldn't be too hard.

Old-skool? - Hey, they have a Motzki-corner (http://www.fkpirmasens.de/inhalt_motzki01.htm). :D
I also like the article about the times, when FK Pirmasens
won against the North Austria sc*m (FC B***** Mü*****). :p

Old-skool?
They are named Fußball-Klub!
They have an early 20th century ball on their logo!
They haven't been good since the 1950s!
If this isn't old-skool, I don't know what is...

But they have a Motzki-corner on their website.
But they want to close it down in favour of their guest book! :(
Someone needs to stop the madness!

They really need to add another round to allow all the Regionalliga teams and more of the Oberliga teams to compete without having to win their Länder cups. Of course, maybe I'm only saying this because we're not in it this season.

On the small club topic, any one familiar with small clubs from the Baden-Württemberg area? Specifically the Necker-Odenwald-Kreis Region, where my father played for a small Amateur club side in the town of Walldürn. He also played one year when he was at technical school in Heilbronn (a slightly large club to the south). I always keep one eye on the first round of the DFB Pokal looking for small amateur sides that might be from that area. Anyone who knows any small city/amateur clubs near this area I would love to hear about it!
Prost!

mate we gotta get you a real team in BW to support ;)
well check SV Waldhof Mannheim first...i'd say they're a decent side around Necker-Odenwald-Kreis
But maybe you should become a KSC fan :p

LMAO, I actually have family and friends in Mannheim. A good friend of the family is a die hard Waldhof fan too. Funny story... a few years back when they were doing poor my uncle said to him, if SV Waldhof Mannheim keep this form up they will be playing against our old team soon (referring to the tiny Walldürn club)!:D
But maybe you should become a KSC fan :p
Kahn's old team eh?
Thanks for the reply S.F.!

I have the feeling, we might see more teams in the cup when we get a 3. Bundesliga. Just my personal guess though.

Hm, Shouldn't TSG Hoffenheim be from arround that area? I think that the most successful side from Neckar-Odenwaldkreis was probably former Women's 1. Bundesliga side SC Klinge Seckach. After a quick Google search it appears as if SpVgg Neckarelz, FV Mosbach and Türkspor Mosbach are currently among the "biggest" clubs in men's soccer there (Neckarelz will be playing 5th division next season).

Add TV Hardheim to that list, 5th division as well :D.
