I'll be in London the day Chelsea plays Celtic in the friendly, and I was wondering how i could come across some tickets for this game from those of you who are experienced with this. Thanks!

Best bet is to join up as a member directly or thru the US-Blues for a price break as the tickets will only be offered to members and season ticket holders. Membership is well worth it's price in the long run.

So, I and each member of my family would have to by a 90 pound membership just to buy tix to that one game? Wow. Also, aren't they only for a year? If so, it's definitely not worth it for me as that is definitely the only game I'll be able to go to this season. Do they not sell general admission tickets at a box office? What about scalpers and other online sellers?

The Celtic game will not being going to general sale. As for touts etc, for a friendly, I doubt there will be that many, if any.

Yes they are not going on general sale as there seems to be a lot of security worries for this game, probably becuse of the link there seems to be between Chelsea and Rangers.

For example Celtic supportes are being put in the Matthew Harding stands and Season ticket holders there are being moved.

The fact that there will be no general sale might mean the touts have more tickets? I don;t really have a feel for how popular the game will be as this is the first pre season friendly at Stamford Bridge for years appart from the Zola tribute game that obviously was not typical.

It won't be popular at all, £40 for a ticket in a friendly is ridiculous, a lot of season ticket holders seem to think the same.
Definately can't see it selling out.

£40 for a friendly?

They're really taking the piss on that!

I know, they first billed it as "The Champions Of Britain" but since that didn't work they're now billing it as Ballack and Shevas first game, as if that makes it justifiable.

Is this a Celtic that just lost 4 nil against the might DC United? Definitely not worth $40

Anyway, we should win this match by at least 5 goals...anything less than that is unacceptable !!! ;)

So I take it the ticket situation is pretty much hopeless unless I buy membership... that sucks....i was really hoping this would be my chance to see the blues play

If you are already there you might try before the match going up the street by The George or Jolly Master (pubs) to the right when you exit the Fulham Broadway Tube stop, thru the shopping center, as this is where touts or extra tickets can sometimes be found as it is illegal and security is all about nearer the Bridge.

You can also try Craigslist London tickets section or

or http://www.cfcnet.co.uk/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=52

or see if the Hotel at Chelsea is offering a hospitality package for the match but is pretty pricey.
