It seems that unlike last season, this season's episodes will be broadcast in 16:9 HD.

Even the commercials for the show have been shown in 16:9 HD (which usually only happens when the show itself is broadcast in the same way).

I'm glad I could help :) , even though it turns out that this season's episodes are also only in upconverted 4:3 after all. :(

I think this time around they got it right.
I didn't see any of that Survivor type events.,and they show more boxing footage.
I'm going to be pulling for K-9.
That Clark thought he had him figured out.,I love it when a loudmouth SOB gets his mouth closed.

Though I recorded the show on Tuesday, I was only able to finally watch it today. Great season premiere.

The two fights shown were very different from each other: the first one (K-9 vs. Clark) featured two completely different boxers, one taller and strong and the other shorter and fast, while the second fight (Bravo vs. Cisneros) featured boxers with very similar styles (though one was younger and a bit taller).

They likely removed the Survivor-type events because the show is now on a more sports-oriented network. :)

Next new episode is this coming Tuesday.

Last night's doubleheader marked the end of the first round of this season's fights.

The first fight featured Nick Acevedo and Jeff Fraza. Fraza seemed to be asleep for the first two rounds, but then really brought it for the final three. Acevedo won out in the end, though, and was undoubtedly the more deserving boxer of the two.

On the other hand, the second fight was pure intensity from both boxers from beginning to end. Freddy Curiel held his own better than most had previously anticipated, but Steve Forbes nonetheless held on to win.

Starting next week, there are no more teams. It's now each boxer for himself.

Michael Stewart was completely outmatched by Grady Brewer tonight and lost. I actually wasn't rooting for or against either until Stewart started badmouthing Brewer before the fight, so in the end I was glad to see Brewer advance to the Final Four.

The Norberto Bravo vs. Gary Balletto fight was a lot closer until near the end, when Balletto pretty much ran out of gas (even admitting as much in the corner).

Next week, the semifinals: Steve Forbes vs. Cornelius "K-9" Bundrage followed by Grady Brewer vs. Norberto Bravo.
