In this month's When Saturday Comes, Ian Plenderleith says there were up to 15,000 - 20,000 US fans "per game" in Germany. Was that so?

I think that's a correct "guesstimate" for the K-town game, we at least had more than 1/4 of the stadium filled up!! maybe even more. All Cat 3 and 4 tickets on the own goal were USA fans and about 50% of the Cat 1 and 2 of the media side of the field. From what I recall. For the other 2 games maybe 10 - 12K is a better number... but that's just me guessing.

At the Italy game I would guess about 15 thousand . We had that entire corner packed . At the Ghana game , it looked like less , maybe 10 thousand .

Hard to tell in Gelsenkirchen because CZE wore red, as did many USA supporters, & our noise level was subdued after the early goal. I would estimate 10-12k. Kaiserslautern definitely seemed louder & our crowd seemed to approach 15k. There were many more USA than actual Ghana fans in Nuremberg, although quite a few locals were sporting Ghana colors. I would guess 10k in the smaller stadium. Outside, I saw faw more USA fans than those of our opponents. K-town seemed to have 50k Yanks in the streets. Most people that I met there did not have tickets, but were out to support the team. OTOH, there were many Italian fans in Nuremberg after the final matchday in our group, celebrating Italy's victory in the group. Most seemed to live there.
