I hope one day FIFA can create a major tournament, even bigger then the World Cup. I'm talking about 6 teams representing each continent. Just imagine Ronaldinho, Santa Cruz, Tevez, the best players of South America playing an intense match against team Europe with players like Rooney, Torres, Klose, Henry. Or team North America with Marquez, Suazo, Wanchpe, Howard playing against a tough team like Africa. That would be some freeky shit. I imagine this every day man it drives me crazy! I hope one day this tournament can be seen by every person in the world. What do you guys think?

Mexico, Best Team Ever!

Good idea. Europe and South America would dominate fairly easily.
I bet Africa could get a pretty good team.
There will never be a tornament like this, but it would be cool if they played an all star game Europe v S America, maybe for charity every 4 years or something. That would be cool.

It would be played like a friendly. The language issues would bury this before it even started.

How would the language issue hamper this?
Look at the Arsenal team.

TALK ABOUT FIXTURE CONGESTION!

What we need is more of it! Definitely a pipe dream.

Maybe a one time WC pre-draw All-Star game. Western Hemisphere - Eastern Hemisphere, Northern/Southern, Euro/rest of the world.

But a tournament would require several weeks away from their salary paying clubs for practice and preparation. I'm sure FIFA could make money at it, but what would the clubs do in this time period?

With six teams, I can see the Oceana team beaten 10-0 while bunkering against any of the other Confederations. I wouldn't pay to see such a mismatch. 6 teams makes a good tournament for the Champions League winners - you have two obvious seeded teams. Would you give the Confederations teams the same set up?

The bad thing is that the South American team would be all Brazilian/Argentinian. I would cheer for them but as a fan I wouldn't really feel as much passion or love as when Chile plays.

You could replace the confederation cup with this. The only problem would be would the top stars want to play? Or would it be just second tier stars at least with Sout America and Europe.

As far as the language barrier Arsenal squad has 10 different languages coming together. Chelsea also has 10 so It could work.

This tournament should be held like three months after the WC or something so the players have a chance to rest and get ready for it as well.

Europe and South America would dominate fairly easily.

How do you figure? You can only have 11 players on the field. There are definitally at least 11 Africans, Asians, or North Americans who are just as good as anyone in Europe or South America. All the teams would be pretty equal on skill except Oceania.

That's club football, not international.

That would be very minor, really. All the South American nations speak Spanish save Brasil, and I'm sure their players have enough familiarity woth the language to get by. All of CONCACAF is also Spanish-speaking except the USA and Canada (Canada wouldnt be contributing any players anyhow). The majority of the African players would speak either English or French.

Only Europe would have any sort of problem, with England, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain (5 languages) contributing to the bulk of their team. And even in that case, I suspect you could narrow the commonly known languages of the individual players down to two or three.

De Rosario would be my first selection for a North American starting 11.

A club level you're there long enough to get past the language barriers. At international level you have maybe two days with a team before the match.
