How would you rate him so far? Is he going to get more playing time?
I remember last season there being a huge buzz about him being a phenomenal player, in fact the best player to come out of the Middle East.
Was it worth it? Please update me.

Thanks.

Well, some flashes of brilliance, but was also pulled from games a lot, due to stamina? He was also injured in the last part of last season...so I think the jury is still out.

He was a free transfer, if I remember correctly, so it did not cost us anything. Am I right on that?

With Ballack and Ze gone, I would assume that he will be shouldering more responsibility this season.

Karimi getting more playing time? Yes, probably
Was it worth it? This is yet to determine, if he gets more tactical freedom for his dribblings this season, then I might say yes

LOL....sorry about that. Didn't know that thread still existed. I didn't hear that much about Karimi last season, so figured he was injured or just not tearing the opposition.

Both assumptions are correct my friend. (and was also being a pain in the arse about the new thread :D ). He had like 1 or 2 moments of something short of briliance and that was it.

Not impressed with his first seaosn, then again, it s a big change for him and he probably didn't get the time he wanted.

So I'll wait another to cast my verdict on him because so far he hasn't lived up to his potential at all.

even though he was a free transfer, we will probably sell him or let him go if he doesnt perform decently for us this season. with Ballack and Ze gone he has no excuse to be hidden this year. other wise sell him like Hashemian to a smaller club so he has the chance to succeed and do whatever he wants on the pitch.

They would have been frickin nuts if they extended with him! Ze Roberto never played up to his full potential over a longer period of time, so I doubt he would have done that in the next season without the motivation of a WC.

he was playing out of position almost 100 percent of the time. He always plays a defensive mid role for Brazil NT, when at Bayern he'd play left flank. Defensive mid gives more space for his play, may not be big deal, but apparently was

and he did not have a good WC! Ghana had lots of chances for scoring goals, France dominated Brasil, Australia troubled Brasil for a long time, even Croatia did that did that but they were to harmless in the end. Ze Roberto played as DM in the Confed Cupas well, but everything was going well there because he had an Emerson in top form at his side. As soon as Emerson was out of form like at this WC, Ze Roberto got problems and was more and more overstrained.
He may have been better than the other Brasilian players, but good? No, I don't think so, he was the one-eyed among the blind!

Very good point. I thought he was better than he actually was...guess I got caught up in the hype.
