Personally I was surprised and both amazed how Koreans would clean up their own garbage and waste after watching a game or partying, to lessen the burden of public cleaners.

Thats why many considered them the best fans from abroad. How cool is that?

biggest letdown for me was that Dragonlord aka the "worlds number one fan" wasnt fully satisfied with the tournie.
Had to come to this site and make a bitchy complaint list because the tournie wasnt 100% perfect .Nobody else can match superman dragonlord in sawker fandom.
oooohhh

When i spend 5k of my hard-earned money, i expect something in return. I was in Japan too, and that's what i am using as a comparison.

Of course i was satisfied, but alas, there is always room for improvement.

And i am not bitching, i am making an observation because i am curious of what people were expecting as opposed to what they actually got. That's half the fun from a WC: expect the unexpected.

Mine (from biggest to smallest)

SURPRISES

1.Germany, great playing, especially offensive; great team, great coach!!!
2.Italy (at least to me). They did so well in spite of all those problems they carried along.
3.Extremely beautifully organized World Cup, all aspects. The stadiums are so beautiful.
4.Ghana. One could see since Italy they were actually a good team. Too bad they are so limited in offense.
5.Ecuador getting that far!!!
6.Trinidad and Tobago playing Italian style.
7.Miroslave Klose. He’s gotten so much better since last World Cup. Thumbs up for this player for such growing up in class!!!
8.Many beautiful goals!!! The first of the tournament being one of them!

LETDOWNS

1.Netherlands. How could they leave Van Nistelroij sitting in a game that was suited for him.
2.Trezeguet sitting almost all tournament!!! Cruel ending for such a good player.
3.Refs, like always. (FIFA, do something!)
4.Ronaldinho, but not Brazil. To me Brazil is always the same thing: good players, poor team.
5.Nesta not playing. My personal favorite player!:(
6.Offsides. I still don’t get why an offside is called when a player actually has to go back from his position to get a ball. Totally stupid in my little world, since he’s not gaining any advantage on his position!!!
7.Frings punishment after the Argenbeastians game. It just sits a bad precedent as in how to reward a sore looser! The team that won ended up being punished by the loosers’ inadaptability to the circumstances! Given the circumstances, it should have been a monetary punishment since the fault was after the game and he was actually assaulted first! Besides, what happened with the punishment of Julio Cruz? He slapped Frings face first!!! What about that DT assistant of Argentina attacking Bierhoff? What about Milito and Heinze’s verbal attack against Bierhoff? If Materazzi words are gonna be held accountable for Zidane’s violence, then there should also be a review on the words of Milito and Heinze against Bierhoff!! There has to be some consistency in FIFA’s decisions!
8.Too many elbows this WC, and only one was rightfully punished!!!
9.Zidane getting the best player award!!
10.Portugal getting “the most entertaining team” of the tournament!!! Oh, but wait, that game against Netherlands was actually entertaining. Let’s scratch this out! Germany deserved this award IMO, since it was the most offensive team in a very defensive tournament!

You was in the stadiums or not.

1) The loudest fans in order in the stadiums: (Not TV loudness)

1. German
2. Mexican
3. Korean, Australia, Argentine
6. English
7. USA (only Kaiserslautern was a higher ranking)
8. France

Ship the rest.

No Croatians in there? Apart from that I am not surprised.

We are talking about Germany here. I am not surprise if the trains run on time.

Maybe I was seating near the Spanish fans, but I think that they were the loudest.

It's easy to be the loudest when you outnumber the other team's fans 10:1
Should have clarified though...its not only the noise level, but its also the endurance of the chants.
With Germany, you could hear the Argentinians and the Ecuadoreans all the time despite being drowned ocassinally by the majority. I don't even think they sat down at all. In contrast, the Germans & Brits were silent for long spells. I think Germans were a little bit livelier than the Brits though, but for the same of simplicity I would put them in the same category.

As for France & US...you can only sing "Allez les bleus" & "U-S-A, U-S-A" before the fans themselves get annoyed and stop altogether.

I guess I must have been really unlucky. Probably 17 out of about 20 trains were late

9 Skinheads, yes, they were there causing trouble, w/o press coverage.

Can't have happened too often though. I had tickets for five games in four different cities, went to Cologne when England played Sweden and never even saw a single skinhead.

5 Polizei giving trouble to tourists cutting WC stickers? only in deutschland.

What do you mean by "cutting WC stickers"?

Actually, I thought the police was great. They seemed (mostly) very friendly, stayed in the background for most of the time, but were there when needed.
I went to the games with friends of mine from Switzerland. One of them is a big FC Zürich supporter and he thought the police were fantastic!

One of the best things they did, probably was working together with the police from some of the other countries and actually patrolling together with some of their colleagues from abroad. Sent a great message, I think.
