It was good to see some other hard core fans up in MI. There are quite a few hard core supporters out there. Then a great and funny idea came to me during the long drive home. What if we had a hard core ranking system to give props to those that devote so much of their time and energy to our team. So with all the time back to Canton, i thought up (with some help) a fun way to sort of rank those that may call themselves Hard Core.

Note: this is only a joke and not meant to be taken seriously in any way. If anyone gets offended i apologize. I don't intend this to turn into a popularity contest, but merely a way to have fun talking about dedication to the Crew. If you would like to be considered just post in with your hard coreness and i'll try to place you accordingly.

Now what could we use to measure how hard core someone is? Why not the three most reliable ranking systems man has come up with: Quarterback rating system, the BCS, and “Whose line is it anyway” scoring.

Using these formulas combined would certainly assure an accurate reading. Points can be awarded for many reasons such as attending home matches, open cup matches, reserve games, and offering me free beer. Feel free to add any other ideas. I'll even factor in strength of schedule, that is, distance from the matches you attend.

Feel free to come up with a small ranking of your own and i'll use them as the computer rating averages. Before i develop the first ranking system i'll list a preview using those that attended the open cup.

Remember this is all for fun, sorry if anyone gets offended.

Brook- Started off big with a trip to KC and adds the Open Cup to his already long list of home games attended. Will be tough to beat.

Chelsey-What can be said about the girl who traveled 2 hours to toss pink paper onto the last coach. Starting strong by making all the home matches so far.

Dave Brull- Another Cleveland guy adding the Open Cup trip to his resume.

Froggy's New Pants- The guy drove all the way from Columbus ALONE! Now thats some props. I know i'd get pretty bored.

Nuthouse- Points for DC and the Open Cup, but is there any excuse for missing home matches when you live 10 minutes away? Hmmmm?

Tony Danza- He's the boss!

I'll be in DC for the game this weekend and I'll be making the trip to Chicago in two weeks. I also have too drive two hours from Akron for home games.

i've only missed one home game (effing first buck-a-brat night) so far, and that's due to being in Myrtle Beach for vacation. Too far of a drive. We did however bust ass back on the Saturday drive to make the game.

This is for fun and I don't look down on anyone for not being hard-core, this is what I like to do so I prioritise these activities higher than most people.

I live directly next to the stadium and have a shorter distance inbetween my house and my season ticket location than anyone in Columbus.

I've only missed 3-4 home games since I moved to Ohio before the 2000 season.

I've been to away games in Miami, New York x2, New England x 5, Chicago x 4 and Michigan.

I have enough game-used warm-ups,balls, sox, shorts and jerseys to clothe about two teams. (if I were stinking rich this wouldn't mean much but I like these items so I collect them.)

I have 700 of the same Columbus Crew bumper stickers to cover my pick-up truck but I don't trust it's engine enough to use all the stickers on a vehicle I might replace.

I missed one game this season to go to the banquet for my bowling league... but come on! I got an award for a 300 game, and I made a straight flush playing Texas Hold 'Em that night!

Plus, I had a broken ankle from an injury on the pitch and bought extra tickets for my parents because I couldn't drive myself to home games.

Yes but this is a thread about HARD core. Just because it's big doesn't mean -- um, OUT.

Hey Hey Hey buddy. When I got my new car, I found myself without the nice Crew bumper sticker I had on my old one...

Think I could "borrow"(have) one of those stickers?

Please? :D

I really, really want to make a quality joke. But I won't.

Dave Brull(if that's his real name..) isn't a Crew fan, though. Doesn't that disqualify him for the real supporters' cup?

I won the first wagering thread, a claim not a single other Crew fan can make.

Big props to all the Crew fans who made it to last night's game! I'm still bummed that work got so busy this week and I wasn't able to go. And I missed our best goal-scoring output of the year too.

If any Crew fans who went to last night's USOC game go to the DC USOC game too, they should get a statue built of them, and flower petals should be strewn in their path whenever they walk somewhere. (And frankly, we all ought to paypal them $5 to chip in for gas money.)

Show of hands: How many people here sat through the lightning delay against the Burn for 45 minutes, only to go out to watch the final five minute overtime?

I purchased DK and stomached ALL 90+ min of our match at NY...

AND --

I'll be taking my two-year-old son to his first CREW game ----- IN CHICAGO. Of course we'll be wearing Black & Gold.

I have the commemorative ticket from the 1st game @ CCS and an overhead shot of the stadium framed. It actually turned out pretty nice!

Ok, Ok, Ok. We are all equally "Hard Core Crew". Why else would we spend every bloody waking moment on this board?!
